Purchasing a weihrauch hw97k. 177 will I need medium or high rings? Scope that I will be using is the Hawke 3-9x40 airmax ao?

I have three 97’s with Hawke scopes. Use the RWS lockdown one piece 30mm. Inexpensive and solid with built in droop compensation. Works perfectly and is inexpensive

I like to keep my rings as low as possible and a scope with a 40mm objective lens can go in medium rings as long as the bell of the scope does not extend over the loading port, which it sounds like yours will not. I have a long scope with long eye relief on my 97 and I had to use high rings in order to get my fingers under the bell and load the gun. The cheek piece on a 97 is pretty pronounced and I found I have no trouble (i.e., I don't have to raise my head up off the stock) looking through a scope in high rings.
Also be sure of your scope's tube diameter. I am guessing Hawke's 3x9x40 has a 1 inch tube.
I use one piece Sportsmatch and am happy with them. I didn't find a need for a droop compensating base.

I shoot Hawke Vantage 3-9x40 scopes on scopes on my airguns. I use medium height mounts to get the scope as low as possible, but not hit the rifle.

Thanks everyone looks like I’m getting the HW97k in the .177 under 500 fps and med scope rings.
