If you tune it for more power it won't be as accurate, it will be a lot harder to shoot straight.
I have several 97s and some are tuned and some are not. Believe it or not the most buzzy
twangy untouched one of them is the most accurate. I had one tuned for less power and it
was the most accurate one I had ever shot and regret selling it.
These guns are designed to be target guns and not magnum powerhouse guns.
When I realized this for myself after buying several of them including several I had tuned, I
purchased an RWS54 then 2 more 54s then a 56TH they are long distance shooting powerhouses
shooting 22-23fpe in 22 and 19fpe in 177. I prefer the 54 over the 56.
I have a variety of 77s and 97s with different stocks, finishes and calibers. Very nice guns.
I am a collector as well as a shooter.

I was terrified to open up my HW97k, but with the help of some YouTube tutorials it proved to be fairly straightforward. Of particular note, you do not need a spring compressor tool. Dropping in an aftermarket kit (VORTEC) was doable for me as a first-timer inside the gun. I really had no choice, as the factory spring was broken fairly early on in our relationship. I have no idea why it broke (no, I never dry fired it), but the replacement has improved power and accuracy as expected.
that was likely me and yes 19fpe in .22 with max spacers and buttoned piston and custom seal
K dog, where did you get that beautiful laminated thumbhole stock you have on your one 97 in the picture?
