I love aperture sights. Somewhere down the line they raised the comb such that I cannot get down on the sights. There are no riser blocks for the front dovetails so using a riser block (lowest is 8mm) puts the back sight up too much for the stock front sight.

Raising the comb was for the majority that prefer scopes and on my scoped rifles, the comb is still a bit low.

It seems to me that every time they change the stock, it gets worse as far as my usage is concerned. That and I HATE the damn billboard they are putting in the "checkering". I bought the gun and don't feel the need to advertise for Weihrauch.

Oh and I HATE ambi.

sorry, old man venting

The newer stocks look queer. Bring back a classic Monte Carlo preferably with a cheek piece. And no billboard or stippling, PLEASE. Would be nice if there were some decent aftermarket stocks available THAT I LIKE. I've considered a Custom Stock UK thumb hole BUT how do you access the safety without fiddling and fumbling. If I wanted to fiddle and fumble I'd just get another underlever! I have thought about modifying the safety to be released from the right side but didn't really look into it much. Would require a little redesign. Pretty sure I could do it if I put my mind to it, though. A little work on the lathe and perhaps milling machine or drill press, no sweat. The other feature I'm not keen on with the CS thumb hole is the slim grip that feels too small for my large hands. For instance, the Theoben thumb hole stocks.
Nice to see they offer the HW95 in walnut but that awful triangle cheek piece........ I won't have it!
I own many Weihrauchs but the only more recent models I own are both HW50's that I have Air Rifle Headquarters walnut stocks for. I have early Deluxe R9 and HW95. 2 early R7's and an HW30 with an early R7 stock on it Aren't those early R7 stocks with the palm swell sweet? Yes!. My HW77k is a Mk1. Have an R8. And my HW55's of course are all traditional styling.
I just don't want any baseball bat lumber with stippling and billboards and no class. Robert Beeman would gasp to see that. On such beautiful rifles. And I do too. YUK.

Today’s stocks are designed for scope usages for certain. So much so, when I ordered a custom Tyrolean (left hand) stock for my HW95 I never thought I needed to mention that I intended to use a Diopter sight. I had to make a front sight riser to accommodate the height of the stock. It’s just assumed that a scope will be used. Weihrauch needs to go back in time and take a good, hard look at what they once offered in a stock. IMHO. Also someone like Buck Rail should design a front sight riser for Weihrauch’s. Everything circles around eventually. Diopters are becoming very popular again.

Well said Dan. A 9mm to 11mm dovetail adapter would be on my list too.
