HW/Weihrauch Weird HW Slip on Moderator issue

I recieved one and put in on my new to me .20 HW30 and also tried it on my HW50 .22.I decided to slip it on the HW30 .22 to try.the first shot was quiet that i thought seemed slow. The second shot "popped " and sent air out of the breech and the pellet didnt make it out the barrel. I took it out and installed it again. Couple of shots were slow and then one didn't even make it out of the barrel again and sent air backwards .
no sign or smell of diesling BTW.

It's almost like the moderator is causing some sort of back pressure. I don't know it's weird.
Somebody smarter than me please explain this.....

I've used the same slip on moderator on my HW50s and 177 HW30S. Never a problem. There's no real back press from the moderator. I'd look at the pellet fit, and lockup. The breech may be popping open because of the combination of higher front end barrel weight and high pellet start pressure. Perhaps a looser fitting pellet would solve the problem. Also check that the detent ball is fully extending. If the pivot tension is too loose it could exacerbate the problem.

gun was shooting accurate before mod added and after I took it off.i did check lock up and it appears fine but that's a good idea to look into.It probably doesn't take much to change things

Sounds like you have a problem with the moderator. Perhaps check it for blockage or alignment. I had zero problems with mine. And against better judgment I cocked the guns with it. Still no problems.
It's clear and free from what I can see.
I pulled a patch through it just to check
It's gotta be something simple I'm missing

Both the .22 and .20 have new seals and springs. Both shooting tiny groups with no issues without the moderator on.
The moderator alignment fine and no portion blocking muzzle.

"no other options"
well then since the two things you told me it had to be are not issues. What you got for me next...😀

been fun and some have been very helpful.
I'm outta here,I tried again but responses like the one above are why I stay away from forums.

From your topic I definitely understood that I don’t need a moderator. So forums are sometimes useful. PS I'm lucky with my neighbors; they like to fall asleep to the sound of gunfire.
