Hey Guys,
My name is Mark Kauffman and I live in Phoenix, Arizona. I transplanted here back in the late 1980's from just outside of Philadelphia, PA so that I could train, practice, and shoot year round when I was trying out for the US Shooting team. I have been shooting competitively since the late 1970's in most of the pistol games but came to enjoy and love airgunning the most. My first exposure to shooting anything was while in Boy Scouts at summer camp when I was 11 years old. My first exposure to field target was in the early 1990's when Brett Reno gave a presentation at one of the weekly night shoots at Phoenix Rod & Gun Club. I came out to see what it was all about, tried it, met some great folks who are lifelong friends to this day, and the rest is history.
I have been the secretary of Airgunners of Arizona field target club for a bunch of years and can honestly say that the members have literally changed my life. I have stated, on a number of occasions, that the monthly club shoots are my mental health therapy sessions. These are people that I look forward to seeing and shooting with each and every month, year in and year out. These friendships will last a lifetime, much the same as with my brothers in the fire department, and my brothers that I marched with in drum corps.
I have waaay too many air guns, but enjoy each and every one of them, whether they be pre-charged pneumatics, spring piston, or single or multi-stroke pneumatics. They are all fun and give me many hours of relaxed enjoyment.
