Howdy, folks! My name is Barry and I've been shooting most of my life. I got my start when I was 8 years old and received a Daisy 880 pump air rifle for Christmas. I have no idea how many rounds went through that gun before it stopped working but if I had a penny for every shot I could probably afford a new house! I also had a Daisy 717 pistol that I loved shooting. Honestly I think I probably put more pellets through that than I did the rifle. Over the years since I've shot mostly centerfire and rimfire rifles and pistols in competition as well as for hunting, general target shooting, and plinking. I have also burned my fair share of black powder over the years.
I was out of the hobby for a few years due to work, marriage, and other issues but have recently gotten back into the shooting sports - retirement does have its advantages, and more time for hobbies is one of the big ones. My goal right now is to acquire a good air rifle to go with the Gamo PT85 pistol I have. Still researching that purchase trying to decide on power type and caliber. My last air rifle was the RWS Model 48 in .177, a rifle that was deadly accurate and perfectly capable of destroying any scope I mounted on it, whether certified for airgun use or not! I'm not sure I could shoot one of those any more as the cocking effort may be too much for my arthritic back. Something else I need to consider when shopping for a new gun.
