Welcome to AIRGUN NATION - please introduce yourself here!

Hello from South Texas. Happy to have found this forum, I been shooting air guns for most of my life. In high school, 20+ years ago, i shot 10m competitively. I can't remember the brand of air rifles we used, the club I shot for provided them to us. Now that my kids are older I'm thinking of doing some more shooting, may-be not at that level but backyard stuff. My current air files are: Crosman Pumpmaster 760's (x3), Daisy Red Riyder (x2). I just ordered a Gamo Raptor Whisper .22 with a Hawke Sport Optics Vantage 3-9x40 AO. So I'll give an update after I shoot 500+ pellets through that. I have a tree rat problem, I'm hoping to solve with the Raptor. Thanks for having me around.

Looking around the forum I realized that I haven't introduced myself, so here it goes.
_
I'm Joe and I started airgunning with a Daisy BB gun at a young age. I can't recall the exact model but I'm pretty sure it wasn't a Red Ryder. I remember being envious of my cousin's Red Ryder and believed it "shot harder" than my gun. In any case, it looked like this and would have been a 1970s model. Perhaps the 1894 "spitting image" model?

_
Then I moved on to a Daisy Powerline with a Tasco scope (both purchased from Walmart).
_
My best airgun from back then was a Sheridan blue streak. I sure wish I would have kept it. A decade or so later, I got back into airguns with a Beeman Goldfinger R9 though I never could shoot it well beyond 15-20 yards or so. I guess that goes for any springer in my case, even an ultra smooth shooting Paul Watts tuned HW 95 in .22.
_
Fast forward to the past several years and I've had and parted with a few dandy rifles:
  • Paul Watts tuned HW95 .22
  • Daystate Huntsman / Midas .22
  • FX Royale 500 .25 tuned by Mr. Allen Zasadny
_
Today, I'm getting back into the sport with a few new precision airguns: Brocock Contour S6 .22, Brocock Bantam .22, and Taipan Veteran .25

_
Mostly I like to shoot airguns (PCPs specifically) so I can quietly and efficiently lower the population of varmints such as raccoons and non-native birds. In fact, here's the runner up for my avatar pic:

_
Below is a photo (not mine, stock) which sums up why brown headed cowbirds are on my dirty bird list. Here we see a jumbo young brown headed cowbird being fed by a hardworking common yellow throat.

_
I've been in government for over a couple of decades now and, upon retirement, aspire to be a full time "precision airgun bum". :D Well, I suppose we'll also garden and raise some livestock. We're currently in VA but will build our retirement home in eastern Texas.

Hey gents! Tom Weiss here from Port Crane NY. Just joined recently, but have browsed this forum quite a few times. ;) Been airgunning since 10 years old, now almost 36 (ugh where is my life going??).

As I was growing up shot multi pump pneumatics, then slowly got into break barrels. Now I almost exclusively shoot PCPs after going to the dark side about 5 years ago...lol.

I do a lot of longer range target shooting (did a 309 yard shot with my Boss for the AGD golf ball challenge), along with hunting. I have 10 acres of woods that need squirrel control, and every year get a family of woodchucks that need to be evicted from under my barn. My YouTube channel is the same as my username here, although admittedly I don't do many airgun videos in the winter months.

Other hobbies include cars and PC gaming. I have an LSx swapped RX7 that I tinker with in the summer, and PC gaming keeps me occupied during cold/rainy weather.

Many of you probably already know me through FB and other social media. Anyway, glad to come aboard and I look forward to meeting you all!

I sent it to RAW to be resealed, Martin said the o-rings literally disintegrated (age) when he took it apart. Now it's back to original form & ready to shoot, just need the weather to break.

Hi my name is Roger and I live in Blaine Tn east of knoxville. I have enjoyed shooting air rifle's for quite a few years. Only had break barrels in the past, and now I have gotten into pcp air rifle's and trying to learn everything I can. I enjoy shooting out to 100 are more yds at targets. I do light hunting every now and then. I have 4 break barrels and 3 pcp's. I wish there was a air rifle shop here near me to get some of the things I need. If anyone knows of one in Tn close to me please let me know. Please be safe and keep on shooting.

Tom - welcome! I'm envious of your 10 acres but hope to have my own "large backyard" in the next few years.

_
220Swift - welcome back! Those Glocks look super sharp. Glocks are my standard as well although I do appreciate certain fine 1911s.

_
Roger - welcome! I've given up on springers (except for plinking) but can appreciate those who can shoot them well.

_
Eric - welcome aboard! There is literally a ton of great information here.

Hi AGN!

I’m Dave, your newest member and likely the newest to air gunning. In December, “Oregun” (this forum) took me out shooting for my birthday. While he’s been into it for many years, this was my first time. Two things about that day… it was the most fun I’ve ever had on a birthday and it turned out to be the most costly! I’ve since procured a new Wildcat MKII .25, an Aztec Emerald w/ FX no limit rings and a Huggett. Also looking at the Atlas BT10-LW17 with the BT15 rail so if anyone has thoughts or recommendations, I’d love to hear them. After a quick call to Joe for the Great White and a trip to the dive shop, I’m ready to shoot! Oregun, are you listening? Lol.

Thanks for letting me be part of this community, I really look forward to it...

Davy, welcome to AGN! You jumped right into the "dark side!" :>
Lot's of great folks here ... sharing their knowledge. You'll have fun and learn a ton. I know I do, each and every day!
We'll give your new MKII a work out this weekend!

Hi All. My name is Bill.
Last year I ran away from the nutty LEFTIST capitol of America called California and settled into a little peace of Heaven called Pocahontas Iowa. Wow..culture shock.
I have a gun I purchased 35 year ago Its a springer. An FWB 124 Sport.
I have not shot it in many years and the pellet just sat there after cocking and firing it the other day. I cruised the internet and found him. AND this place.
I sent it to David Slade at Airgunwerks for a new piston, seal and complete tune.
They want 800 bucks for a new one today. I think Its worth it.
I remember it being a tack driver. I hope David can work miracles.

Hello Michael and Greetings to all you avid air gunners out there!

My name is Rodolfo and I live in the Philippines but I grew up living in various countries all over the world on account of my father who was in the diplomatic corps. I am 61 years old and got my first airgun when I was 14 , did a lot of hunting in India and some countries in Europe, However a few years before I went to college I never had the opportunity to shoot and hunt again and then two years ago I saw a Hatsan Model 80 springer in sporting good store and now I am totally hooked again. Least to say the Hatsan was a big disappointment ( a scope killing hard cocking and loud heavy chunky pieces of metal put together ) so in the period of two years I have come to own a Benjamin Discovery .22, an FX Impact .22, Fx Royale 500 and recently the Wildcat in .22 format.
I just want to say that this is a great forum, the holy grail for air gunners.

My name is Fred (36), I am Dutch but live in Brazil. I am a father of 1, a web developer, motorcycle enthusiast and love to cook and be outdoors.

I started out shooting airguns as a 10 meter match shooter when I was a teen.

I currently own; HW30/77/97/100, Diana 350 / 5g, Steyr LG10 / LP50, Rohm Thwinmaster PCP, Theoben Rapid 7 MK2, Walther LGV.

I badly want a Steyr LG110 HP Hunting.

Hello Airgun Nation!
I've enjoyed airguns for decades, and have hung around various airgun forums for years (I see many familiar names of folks I've chatted with in the past, like Michael, Ted, 220 Swift, etc). Over that time I've met some wonderful airgunners who have become extended family. Someone told me long ago "airgunners are some of the best people in the world", & I've seen that to be true with my own eyes.
Lets Have Fun!

Hello Airgun Nation. I’m from the swamps and bayous of South Louisiana and got addicted to airguns after shooting a friend’s Benjamin Marauder .22 cal. Since then, I’ve purchased 10 or so airguns and have sold some to fund other airguns that have caught my eye. The accuracy is addictive! I like to plink targets but my passion is for hunting. I’m looking forward to meeting new friends and learning for each of you.

Hello Airgun Nation,

I'm 50's something airgun addict from Kansas. Been shooting since I was a kind and find it relaxing almost kind of zen. Been a springer guy for years with a collection of Air Arms and HW/Beeman's . Recently jumped off into the world of PCP's with with a couple of nice eruo rifles. I'm hooked!!! Always enjoy the wealth of collective knowledge forums create.

My name is Shareef, I'm from Michigan, and I love springers. I grew up lucky enough to play with my Dad's 1981 Beeman R1 in .22 (hence, my Beeman22 username) and probably have 20,000 pellets through that poor thing. I spent hours paging through those old Beeman catalogs dreaming about virtually every gun in there. But then I grew up and forgot all about airguns for a long time, until a couple of years ago when I bought an HW30 on a whim and quickly remembered how much fun airguns are (everybody should have an R7/HW30!) Since then, I've gone on a bit of a buying spree and might have gotten a little carried away...so much so that I'm now contemplating selling a few.
I've been an active member of another forum and never stumbled over here for some reason, at least until now. I am enjoying the relaxed vibe and see some familiar names. And I'm looking forward to getting to know lots of new ones and contributing to the conversation!

Hello, I,m an avid hunter-power burners, muzzle loaders, bow and crossbow. I love my AR15 (it's an erector set for big boys) I've always had BB guns and pellet guns.Up until recently, I've considered them as "quieter" pest control and plinking toys. I had a serious motorcycle accident on Labor Day 2016, and I,m permanently crippled. After my last hospital stint, I began taking an interest in airguns due to American Airgunner. I dusted off my Beeman GS950 .177 and shot it in the living room a few times (10 yards). I started reading up on scopes, and settled on a Leapers UTG 3x9-40mm AO True Hunter. Turns out to be an excellent choice.I then pulled out my Benjamin Sheridan C9 .20 cal. My dad had been using it for the last 25 years or so to eradicate squirrels from his bird feeder, a serious dealer of death. He gave it back a few years ago, saying it wasn't accurate anymore. I finally looked at it last week, and found the scope loose. I took off the $15 Bushnell 4x 20mm and replaced it with a $15 Chinese reflex red dot. It actually shoots pretty good. I gave in to temptation after watching a few weeks of AAG and YouTube. I ordered the Umarex Gauntlet in .22cal, along with the UTG 4x16-44mm AO Mil dot. I've already begun watching videos on how to fine tune the trigger and adjust the regulator. I've been a technican for Ford for 25 years and a crane mechanic for 14 years, so I can't leave anything alone. I don't even have the gun it my hands yet. I joined this forum to pick your brains and become knowledgeable in airguns. Any thoughts?
