Hello!
I have been following the forum since its inception and finally decided to create an account here.
I guess my story is much like most everyone as many years ago I started out a youngster with a Crosman 760 and eventually progressed to firearms in my teens for hunting. Only just in the last couple of years I rediscovered airguns again thanks in part to a Cabelas circular with a Gamo breakbarrel featured on it stating something like 1300fps and I remember thinking... geez, I had no idea air rifles had come this far and thought that would be just the ticket to wage war on a pack of 13 stripe gophers invading my territory(yard) since they seem to be thwarting my other attempts at eliminating them.
Well it didn't take long to realize that I wasnt going to be able to hit a 3 inch target at 40+ yards with regularity much less scramble gopher brains at those distances so it went back to Cabelas, that also happen to be when I noticed the scope stop pin digging a nice trench on the scope rail... which explained why I couldn't keep it zero'd. After a bit of researched I picked up a Benji Trail NP2 from PA which was an improvement although still not quite what I was hoping for and ultimately returned as a warranty/quality issue and have since settled on a Discovery in .22 which I have been happily sending these gophers to their grave. So much so that I think I won the war, last year I removed about a bakers dozen and this year only one showed up this spring although he didn't get stick around for long and haven't seen any since. My guess they will return this year when all of the fields surrounding my property are planted with soybeans and if they do it will be the start of Yard War 3!
Lately I've been looking into picking up a Benji 392 as a backup and for some small game hunting from time to time. Actually considered getting a FX Indy but decided not to get too carried away with my latest obsession... LOL
Happy Shooting!
