Tuning Well That's an Odd Place for a Leak

I've been hunting for a very slow leak on my Impact M3 since the day it arrived. For awhile I thought I was losing my mind because the leak almost seemed intermittent. Tonight by chance I finally found it. It's leaking though one of the threaded holes for the trigger guard. Can't say I've seen anyone mention this so I figured I'd make a thread in case someone else has the same issue. I have an email out to FX as of this evening, and I suspect it will have to go back for repair under warranty.

You're welcome. My M3 being built, glad they discovered this problem early. Don't worry, FX will make it right, and by that I don't mean sending you tube of superglue.

I'm sure they will. Their customer service is pretty good and I'm not too concerned about it. These things happen, and if this is the worst thing I have going on in my life right now I can't complain.

Yup here it is as he said. Sounds like they machined the trigger block incorrectly and caused the leak on the early guns. Were it me I would just use a couple drops of blue Locktight on the trigger guard screw, so you can disassemble it without heat if needed at a later date, and see if that stops the leak. Otherwise send it back and let FX do something similar or the same thing. Although I think they should be replacing the improperly machined trigger block rather than using a plug and some Locktight.

Edit;

Wow three posts since I started my reply guess I am a bit slow.

Sounds grim, can't agree, anyone who helps so many, has a life, and it's a worthwhile one. (Didn't realize you were off on another thread helping with compressor problem, till later.) Every time I come across you, or some other long-timers, giving some member a hand, and saving him lots of grief and money, it makes me feel both envious and grateful. Wish I knew enough to help, but glad you guys, who do know, are so willing and patient. You, my friend, are the opposite of someone who doesn't have a life.
