JB Weld and some dust tape should hold.
I'm kidding! I like the idea of the gauge port adapter. Simple, easy, and effective.

Could be the ham fisted idiot that 'worked/destroyed' my second Maverick before I bought it from a member here. Things were broken that should never in a million years should have broken.May not have been the original owner. Whichever owner did do it should be banned from working on airguns.
warning - just replace itI bought a Cricket that was recently posted in the classifieds. I knew going in that it had a leak or issue with the reg. Upon disassembly I found a divot in the air tube. Looks like someone drilled into it by accident when they were doing their ham fisted air-gunsmithing. By the way, this rifle looks like Edward scissor hands was working on it. But for the price, the scratches and tacky, diy gold painted trim didn’t bother me. What does bother me is a divot that might be comprising the structural integrity of the air tube! I was going to fix this up and sell it but there’s no way it’s being sold with that little crater. I’d rather take the loss than sell it to someone and they get injured from a faulty air tube. The same way I respect the danger of riding my motorcycle is the same way I respect HPA. It’s easy to get complacent after a while of dealing with HPA (or riding) and having no incidents. But the danger is always lurking. Waiting for you slip up.
Side note: There’s no way the AGN member that sold it to me knew about it. He doesn’t work on airguns. So I’m not going to try and return it. The guy he bought it from does work on them and is a reputable member over on GTA. I don’t know if he did all this hamfistery. If he did, then he sold this rifle knowing this damn thing had a divot in the air tube. I really hope he wasn’t the one that did this and sold it knowingly.
I’m no mechanical engineer so I may be over reacting about this divot. But my gut says don’t trust it.

Here’s a BB comfortably nestled in the divot.

***Well I see how they made the divot. It happened when they were drilling the hole for a sling stud. The sling stud hole and divot perfectly match up. So this wasn’t some factory defect.
So are you just going to let the fellow airgunner get away with selling IED’s without even an explanation? Or at least an attempt to contact him just out of curiosity? Maybe some don’t grasp the seriousness of what he did. If that gun blew up on the owner before you or even you, I guess he figured it could never be traced back to what he did. So proving negligence from a legal aspect would be tricky. He’s a turd.Kalibrgun confirmed it is indeed not safe to use that cylinder. Also, Charlie Frear (Georgia Airguns) confirmed the sling stud was not done by the factory. He is going to check his inventory for an air tube.
***WHEN BUYING USED, THOROUGHLY INSPECT YOUR PRESSURE VESSELS. LORD KNOWS WHAT SINS THE PRIOR OWNER HAS COMMITTED.. YOU DON’T UNLESS YOU CHECK!***
Yeah, that’s a turdy thing to knowingly ship out a gun that was damaged like that, no morals. I was going to suggest that as well, but the tank may be too thin to tap threads reliably. Would probably need to be threaded through into the adapter so it makes it more of an anchored post than a set screw.Thinking on the gauge adapter, a set screw through the divot and into adapter would probably be needed to insure the adapter remains located properly.

I doubt anyone would fess up to it. Likely they would pass the blame on to the “guy they got it from.”So are you just going to let the fellow airgunner get away with selling IED’s without even an explanation?
