I'd most certainly be giving them a call. I've never bought a PCP from them. So I don't know if they they do function, and pressure/leak tests like AOA did with my Sidewinder. Or if they just ship them to the customer as they get them.

Like I wrote earlier in this thread, the gun was delivered with no pressure at all, the gauge was indicating zero pressure and the bottle was loose. I wrote to Western Airguns that I want either an exchange or a refund. I don't want a defective PCP gun knowing how dangerous it can be.

Yes, they contacted me by mail saying that AOA is gonna take care of the repair. AOA service center called me and assured me that they will put the gun back to a perfectly working gun, and as there is a long waiting list on that gun, I decided to have it fixed by them.

Will do. The other reason I chose to have it fixed is that they are gonna disassemble and go through the gun in detail meaning that they will also thoroughly test it before sending it back to me.

Are you using an after-market suppressor on your Sidewinder? I just ordered a 0db magnum for mine. I like 0db suppressors, they are small and light, and they do reduce the bark significantly.

So far I'm running mine stock. I didn't want to mess with anything too much till the warranty runs out. Didn't you say the shroud, and suppressor were somehow stuck together? I heard it somewhere, and didn't want to void my warranty by making any permanent changes. Though in the future a suppressor that actually gets the job done would be nice.

They are 2 pieces but put together. The shroud and the stock suppressor are linked so that the former is an expansion chamber. So if you wanna put an after market suppressor you need to cut the shroud to let the 1/2" barrel thread appear above the shroud so that you can screw in a quieter suppressor.

I'm probably not game for cutting my shroud. Perhaps I'll try another suppressor once an adapter hits the market. I'd have to be able to put the gun back into ite original configuration. When you sat "put together", how so? Simply screws together? Or is it glued, or something?

That not worthy. I wonder if your order placed past AOAs initial allotment of .25. Maybe waiting on another production run?

For what is worth... I can't recommend this little tidbit of info to be held more close to your heart...
Before you remove the barrel, Mark it!!! I used a diamond scribe to mark Center line and scribed a line at the point where the barrel is seated in the block.
This WILL save you future frustrations.
My Rattler .357 has been back and forth from AOA more times than I want to think about. But... I truly love this airgun.
It will jam on you one day... That's "Murphy's Law". It may dump a full blast of air into your cheek. That my friends F'n hurts! (Felt like a fist hit me in the ear lobe down through my jaw. I had bruises to show for a week.) Happened 4x on me. Pissed me off so bad I was ready to plant the thing and use it as a fence post. However, It was may fault. I didn't have the barrel properly set. I did follow the directions as described to the letter. But, every setup is slightly different. So, swallowing that hint of being gunshy, I had to be patient and find that sweet spot as it was sent from the factory.
Another MAJOR thing to remember, as I learned here in Michigan during some down right evil cold snaps out deer hunting, MAKE SURE YOUR AIR IS DRY!
Any moisture build up will freeze the system during the below freezing temps. The mag won't rotate, You'll get a muzzle report that sounds like a .22lr going off. Your follow up shot will fire at low power. Followed by a full repeat of BANG and soft shot. This was my experience. Results may vary.
Reg may creep a little when you're pressing the max reg tune. That seems to be the norm in mine and another just like it used by one of my customers here.
That said... I do love how she performs. Amazingly accurate and enough power to have dropped Deer, Coyote, Trash Pandas galore, and believe it or not, one of my contracts has me use it to put down 1200lb cattle with a well placed brain pan shot. She's a beast!

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience, I did not disassemble the barrel nor do I intend to. I just took off the shroud and the suppressor that comes screwed in it because I need a gun that is quiet enough for my backyard, and the Sidewinder definitely is not, that's why I took off the stock suppressor. I now know how to quell the bark. Will share when it's done.
