What are the highest 11mm dovetail mount rings of 30mm?

I acquired a Steyr ProX and the mount that came with the rifle is too high for scope mounting IMO, it's just the wrong height. When I put low rings on it they are still too high and if I tried to find even lower rings somehow the objective bell on the scope would likely hit the rail anyway.

What I would like to do to have a tidy solution is to have super high rings and not use the supplied mount at all. Any suggestions?

utg makes a dovetail adapter for pic mount rings .. so you could pretty much use any ring you find if you have the adapters, they work good i use them on my gen1 marauder ..

I've used the UTG dovetail adapters successfully as well. They do seem to work very well but it is just another area where a problem might arise. Less than optimum if a direct dovetail fit is available, IMO. OP asked about dovetail specifically. Sportsmatch makes high fully adjustable 30mm rings in both dovetail and picatinny. I wouldn't buy the picatinny versions and then need to use the adapters to fit to the dovetail. But it is correct that any other brand tall 30mm picatinny rings on hand could be fitted with the dovetail adapters.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I had to leave in a hurry yesterday so I didn't include the fact that I already have extra high 11mm sportsmatch rings which are too low when mounted directly to the action on this Steyr for me to see through the scope??? I guess I better look at those 11mm risers which should hopefully, and just barely, get the scope high enough.

Why on earth Steyr made their scope mount so darn high is beyond me???

The tallest ones I found when looking were the Sportsmatch fully adjustable xxx66. I think they were technically 0.5mm taller (when fully extended) than the normal extra highs, so I just went with the extra highs. Not the same rifle though. I could have even used more room.

I was hoping to find a riser and then go with pic rail rings but never did.

Thanks!

If the risers aren't high enough I'll combine those adjustable rings with them. I like the Sportsmatch over the FX rings as well.

@austin870

Those BKL are fairly nice, but they are actually shorter than the Sportsmatch tallest rings. I had a set of those as well, and they wouldn’t work on my largest scope, where the Sportsmatch would just clear enough. I would recommend them for others who don’t need even more height.

My goodness you must have a monster size scope... lol My 50mm was clearing by 3/8" with the BKL's. A lot of people use higher rings because of short eye box, comfort and other seeing problems etc not just for scope clearance. Sometimes I think BKL and Sportsmatch come out of the same factory with one more Europe marketed and the other more USA.
