At first glance I thought maybe some teflon tape left overs but if the q-tip wouldn't move the loose ones and recon not I usually us a dental pic gently chasing the threads in a counter clockwise/lefty loosey lol direction to bring the older Teflon tape out of the threads when resealing something. did they use some kind of liquid sealant on the fittings for anti seize ?
I personally would not want to leave it in mine for fear of clogging lines or getting into my pcp's maybe add one of the lil cartridge type filters before connecting to you fill adapter to help trap anything that cleared you large separator.

Marksman,
Never saw those before, send pics to seller, wouldn't want that in my system. WM

Its weird Its stated brand new so I dont know what this is about but when I see Air velocity sport take apart his there aint no strands no where he opens his at 6:35 in the video
, Taking another look there appears to be some threads behind the strands, It looks like some teflon tape but what ???

Looks like some teflon tape or sumthin but its not loose otherwise I would of got it and I see a tiny start of one in the bleed port, I dont got no clue what that is I dont want some fibers stuck up in my fill whips an what not.

MarksmanPete ====I saw what you are talikng about and if yours is the same I see no real risk opening that thing up as he did in the video. Common sense will go along way and I would get a strap wrench and soft jaws on my vise and crack her open if it were me. I would get those particles/white strands out as it doesn't look over complicated at all. Best of luck to you Sir. (y)

Fill whip is an easy fix you rifles can be tricky and take some time. Get it out or get another is my advice haha. Just un screw that thing whilee unpressized of course and spruce her right up if it were me.

I dont got a strap wrench unfortunately, 7 dollars cheapest one off amazon would come in a couple days time with prime an the area I live in such a large metropolitan area , Il see what the seller says first though he gotta help me resolve this or get me a new one, Im curious as to what it is like why is it in my brand new filter.

I really doubt it could cause any damage to guns or even if it lets say worst case scinario happens an powders up into tiny pieces everywhere, I still run a whole blue filter with molecular sieve between 2 small foam pads compacted tight followed with a little cotton cigarette filter cut to legnth so its flat when I screw it in, So I mean it should be no big deal really I dont think any particles can get past that cigarette filter its dense cotton if worst case happened it should still stop anything, if the particles somehow got past the sieve with the 2 foam filters. Probably not as big of a deal as im making it out to be but I dont know im no expert though, posted here for some 2nd opinions.

Hey can you show me a close up under the light of your threads of your bleed valve, and your air outlet like photos here I want to see if you have teflon tape on your thread or is it just me, I dont know if the seller did me dirty an gave me a bad one or someone returned a unit an he sent it to me or whatever but I dont give a poop as long as it works an wont leak im boutta leak test it make sure it aint a leaker il hand pump it to like 4000 an wait like 10 minutes or so.

Sure, only tape on mine is on outer threads. Recently did a dead-head pressure test and found leaks here, surprised since sealing should be from round head of pressure hose to inside filter's cone-shaped fitting. Thread condition was fine and tightened as far as possible, took two inches of 1/2 inch thread tape, folded once, lengthwise, which sealed top fitting, exit fitting took an additional 2 inches of tape to seal. Looks like you have a bit of teflon in there too I guess im all good, But the pic you posted, I pumped this thing to 4100, Its like pumping up a gun maybe around 120 cc or so from zero to 4050 ish, But the first time I pumped it I found that it would leak air from these threads in the picture as you can see where the fill whip threads into the inlet nut, So After the first time pumping it up I was like hmm okay Il tighten that down an try again an I felt like I did it tight but not like no where near as tight as I can but tight, Imma tighten it down one last time not crazy dumb but the hardest I will, but If that dont do it I guess il teflon tape that spot I see you teflon taped the one on the side, funny for me that one for me I just snugged up and it didnt leak at all, But the top fill whip leaked even when put like 30% more tork in the top one than the lower one an still leak. One last test though before teflon Im done pumping this thing up, really shows how strong compressors are comparred to air pumps its like WOW, Here is that pic where im getting the leak, The first time when it gets around 4000 you can hear it an actually even feel a tiny small breeze despite tightening it down the same tork as like the one you got tefloned up. Such a hot day today may 10th around 80 in washington, What am I in california? its suppose to be around 90 may 15th I dont wanna even see july Im so glad I got a compressor handpumping with no ac busting into fat sweat everytime to shoot aint no fun.

Stripped threads on those fittings isn't rare, mostly, I think, owners find leaks and try to torque their way out of it. I can finger tighten mine till seated, then, after a nudge with wrench, if it still leaks, Teflon thread. Both mine have Teflon tape, top took only small amount to seal, exit fitting took more. I've never removed fittings that actually thread into filter housing. WM

No, never apart, usually don't mess with stuff that's functioning. When not in use I leave drain valve open. WM
Hmm, Yeah Im not gonna bother taking eather whatever its no big deal if fibers go free its all good I got a blue filter so nothing would get past an get in the gun it says to please not disassemble the filter by yourself this can affect the air sealing so im not trying to do that unless I must an this aint a must so, I bet you could seal it back up just as it was new if you where to take it apart as long as you got some teflon tap and some silicone grease if anything leaks. I just also did the leak test after tightening it down real snug and 18 minutes in 4350 psi its not leaking so im glad its all good cant wait to get my yong heng now.

Agreed, I'm sure you can hardly wait for Yong Heng and get everything going! Best Of Luck, WM
