Sometimes you might need a pole saw...other time you might need a paintball gun using frozen ammo

Those ideas might be good if you are on private property, but even then don’t be surprised if law enforcement show up.
So here when high school graduation rolls around families gather together in crowds similar to concerts. People make signs to find their family with names or a big picture of the graduate. Problem is most signs are 6’-12’ and everyone has them. Solution- 3, 8’ green garden support stakes connected with pvc pipe pieces. It stands head and shoulders above everyone else’s sign. I also use it to scrape wasp and mud dauber nests from under 2 story home eaves. I have a putty knife one then end. Easy to make, very light weight and controllable. No worries of falling off a ladder or the po-po rolling up on you. Pretty sure you can add another 8’ section and get 32’ out of it.

I mean just the outer shell of a moderator. I had one where the end cap could be removed so it was just a 2” diam tube threaded on the end of the barrel.

I use an Air Cannon with the "Plug" weighted with BB's. See attached photos. The Plug weighted comes in at 1-pound and depends how much air you pump into the cylinder, but it can be shot out of sight vertically. I glue on one end of the plug, fill the body with BB's, add epoxy and seal the other end with a cap. This thing is scary how powerful it can be 
. I have another plug that I weighted and installed an eyebolt in one end and attach a long para-cord to shoot up into a tree and then pull a rope when I am cutting the tree down.

On a really tall tree, 75 to 100 ft, I shoot over a limb, then pull the para-cord so that I can shoot again in the opposite direction, around the tree. Use a shackle to allow the rope to be pulled tight way up in the tree. No fear of the tree falling in the wrong direction.

in Ham (armature ) radio there is a tennis ball launcher designed to put up a wire antenna sling shot version or air powered , you could build a sling shot version .

I've ended up with a PCP Air Javelin, cheap Chinese marshmallow "archery tag" tips off Amazon, AMS bowfishing slides with a wrapping of tape around the shaft to keep them from sliding into the fletchings, and a super high quality homemade arrow retrieval setup.
It can shoot tethered or untethered arrows with field points, broadheads or padded tips... Launch lines, hunt, I guess it could fish too. With a little bit of rigging it also launches little parachute dudes, great fun. I would like some kind of LED parachute flare, haven't found a good way to do that yet though.
The most versatile "gun" I own. It works great but is too loud, so I'm building a crossbow-based version when I want to be more discrete.

If it ever gets tangled when shot I wouldnt want to be the person behind it. Or if you forget to disengage spool on reel, be a good way to get hurt really bad.

That's a danger with bowfishing in general, no?
It's always concerned me too, I have visions of the line getting wrapped around something and the arrow making a U-turn, but the safety slides seem to do their job pretty well when they pull backwards into a band of duct tape.
