What constitutes a butthook vs adjustable wings?

Specifically for the TexTreme EFT. I will ask the MD directly but thought a public post could help others. Ive been kind of confused to this definition all week while getting ready for Saturday. My first EFT event and want to be 100% within the rules. Not a big deal to remove it if needed. The rule says no butt hooks but also says adjustable wings cannot be more than 30 degrees. So would adjusting my “butthook”to less than 30 degree curvature be allowed? Maybe my understanding of definitions is all cockeyed and butthook is referring to the horizontal butt extensions? Thanks for the input.

It it my understanding, and I'm going to use your picture as the example, in order for it to be considered a butt hook you would need an additional "wing" on the top (and bottom) of your existing butt pad. This would allow you to hang the butt hook on your shoulder and require less effort to support the rifle with your hand.

My traveling buddy has used one just like yours on his RTI at Ron's at the last two events and it wasn't a problem. Although he won't make it this weekend because of prior commitments, I'll be there with my RTI as well.

Thank you Sir! Appreciate the input. I did pm Ron as well. Just want to be within the rules.

A competitor at our Az extreme match last weekend used one on his Prophet, he is shown here shooting with the match director so I assume its OK here anyway. How do you like that adjustable buttpad and are you able to access the hammer spring adjustment with it on?

Thanks for the input! I guess its not considered a true butthook although it was advertised as such, hence my confusion. Adding that little extra LOP made a huge difference and yes you can get to the hammer spring adj by lowering the vertical riser piece. Very lightweight so the balance was not really affected either.
