YESTERDAY I ordered a range finder, laser boresight, and green laser/flashlight for the AEA harpoon that's (finally?) on the way. (It'll be here, according to oops... err, UPS, next Friday.) The 3 items I ordered from Amazon were supposed to be delivered today, 10-3 window. Today, about an hour before the delivery window closed, I checked and saw it hadn't shipped yet, get online with Amazon support. "We're sorry, but it's not actually in stock at your local warehouse, we'll have to ship it, it'll be there in about 48 hours." Nope. Cancel it. If I decided to stop payment on my credit card for 48 hours, because I just didn't have the funds at the time, they wouldn't deliver. Why should I accept service that treats me differently? My new favorite slogan: your failure to prepare is not my crisis. I was asked "Please give us 1 more chance. I said "Ok, compensate me for the time I spent waiting for a delivery y'all knew wasn't going to be delivered, but you didn't inform me wasn't going to be delivered, and then have it to me by 3. That's your chance." He said "I'm sorry sir, but we can't." I said "And, there's your answer: I can't. Don't apologize unless you are going to do something to amend your actions and make right my time you wasted. Otherwise, you are simply participating in a 'socially acceptable lie.' Lying is lying, and makes you a liar. It is a bad look. Cancel my order." Order canceled. I bought local, Instead of Amazon stuff, today I got a Vortex 1400 HD and a Bushnell Laser Boresighter:
So far, I discovered that the electric poles I sight all of my optics on (lenses for my cameras, telescope, scope for my rifle, etc.) are 66 yards, not 60, and 78 yards, not 80. But, I was pretty close, in my map calculations. I dialed in the laser on my Byrna LE ... which will be moving to my AEA when it arrives, and learned that there's no way I can legally fire any of my PCPs in the back yard, because of the 150' from residence ordinance.
