What did you shoot today?

Pulled out the old cheap 634 today. Shooting spinners @ 35 yds. Still amaze me with it's accuracy.

Nosler and NSA slugs at paper out of the Bulldog getting some chrony numbers. Shot a few JSB pellets when I ran out of good light and packed up the chrony.

More chronograph work with the bulldog today. Preparing for a Veradium Air tune. Got some good looking expansion on some NSA hollow point slugs today. Here’s a look after going through and being stopped by wood.

Some white tails dropped by and hung out until the shooting commenced. I caught this one on her way out.

@TMH That’s a sharp looking piece of gear ya got there. I like the colors in the stock.

The GRS stock was actually a very pleasant surprise to me when I opened the case and saw/felt it for the first time.

Firstly, I cannot figure out how FX can make a laminate stock which is so solid, but feels so light at the same time. Secondly, the GRS stock is actually very svelte, even though it can look somewhat blocky and chunky in photos. Finally I have never before immediately bonded with a new rifle/stock like this one. From the start it is incredibly comfortable, natural and stable. And the tool-less comb/LOP adjustments are very handy.

Fairly calm winds this morning, although enough gusts to ruin a group or 2. Shot at my 51 yard target box to compare what had been my most accurate longer range rifle (Red Wolf HP GC2 in .22) against the GRS Crown MkII (.22) and the Red Wolf HP GC2 in .303.

.303 walked away with today's title, with best 5-shot group out of 6 measuring 0.33". The 22's tied with their best 5-shot groups measuring 0.56".

Then decided to re-organize the back yard a bit - so now I got 10 more yards for a max range at home of 61 yards.

Just because I couldn't stand it any longer, I put two in a target at 50 yards out of the Texan this afternoon. Had some balls delivered and wanted to see what they did. An inch and a half high at 50 yards, zero'd for 290 NSA slugs.

No hate calls, but LostWife was not impressed. LOL As far as I could tell no one was home, and the target trapped both balls. Now I know and am confident. Nothing will probably wander through that the 25 won't take care of, and since I've been shooting it a little, not much of anything has showed itself.

Spring has sprung and weather is nice. We are holding our breath over some trees that haven't come out just yet. The record breaking cold snap may have been too much for them. The big scary one is a live oak the neighbors have. It looks dead, and nothing green on it yet. The thing is probably 150+ years old, and HUGE. The squirrels are even leaving it alone, and that is concerning.
