88 cu ft 4,500 PSI tank for medium/large PCP reservoirs. Hand pump for 100cc and less. No need for a compressor, I live 6 miles from New England Airgun in Hudson, MA plus a number of scuba shops near the coast here. The NE Airgun store fill is $10 from 1,500 psi or higher initial pressure plus I can buy stuff, hang out, and use the indoor range.

dont think to many people lie to hand pump if they dont have to unless they like the exercise
For me, with my low power and highly efficient Fortitude, not to mention that I don't try to shoot it until the fps falls off...

It isn't a problem and I am 62, a smoker and not in great shape.

It baffles me that so many young, healthy, non-smokers think pumping with a hand pump is so hard. Damn! I mean, Damn! (heavy sigh)

If you like to shoot a LOT or have an airgun (larger caliber, not tuned properly, etc) that uses a LOT of air, then a compressor/tank might be needed.

Otherwise, get off of your sissy asses and get some exercise! LOL!

I have posted about this in other threads.....
I picked up a Steyr LP50 long barrel at great price..
steyr1.jpg

The gentleman only used a hand-pump to fill up the cylinder.
Well with any new gun to me, the first thing I do is tear it down.
To inspect, clean and remove excessive lube,...etc.
Well to my surprise, the 2 cylinders had almost 1/2 ozs of water in them.
The reg and plenum also had moisture in them!!

So the moral to this...... Please empty the moisture trap regularly!!!!!
When I first got my first PCP(Rapid MKII), I used a stirrup pump..
I would usually do about 30 strokes. Stop to let the pump cool down.
But most important, I would drain the the Moisture Trap!!!
Yes this meant a little more work..... but my gun stayed DRY!!

Good Luck,
Stuart

Bingo. Dry air is so important.

I've never owned a tank. I bought an Omega Air Charger years ago when I bought my first PCP, but I only use it to fill the guns. When I go out pesting I take two guns (or more) and I'm set for the day. This approach has worked well for me.
Ever consider getting a small CF tank like 100 cu inch or so? Your compressor could fill it piece of cake and have more range time.

My M3 Impact Sniper is good for 150 shots, and my Crown is good for at over 100. Taking just those two with me, I'm good for at least 250 shots on a day out. I've had some really productive days pesting, but never got close to exceeding 250 shots.

It ain't hard, it just sucks.. I hand pump small reservoirs because I'm a little uneasy about connecting a 88 cu ft 4,500 PSI bottle to a 50cc Diana Bandit. My M-rod has a 240cc tank and that fills FAST off the bottle. I'm afraid I'd grossly overshoot filling the little Bandit tank so I hand pump the little ones.

I have a Nomad II compressor and recently was given 2 tanks ( still not used them ) but I prefer HandPumping, been doing it since my start into airgunning a decade and a half ago,.....there was a time I had 5 pumps at the same time, only go 20-25 strokes heach then swap pumps so they never got warm.
