Other What has happened to the "Long Gun" .177 market?

I submit this question as I am having a hard time finding a decent .177 Long Gun.

My definition of said guns is as follows:
1) Quality Wood or Laminate Traditional stock
2) Good, Quality Barrel
3) Good shot count- 60+
4) Regulated
5) This Decade Technology
6) Good Trigger
7) Decently priced, preferably under 1000.00
8) NO FX Period
9) No Air Venturi or Chinese facsimile

Air Arms S510, Daystate Wolverine or Daystate Revere. You missed out on AOA's sale on Reveres for $899. I bought an unregulated model with the Harper patented hammer and I get 90 accurate shots. Under a $1000? Doubtful, bu keep your eyes open for a used one. AA 510s pop up occasionally, but .177s seem rather scarce lately. I do like them very much and many folks seem to think they are underpowered or inadequate, to which I disagree.

May not be a traditional rifle stock. But it's.177, wood, ambi cocking, and the mag sits in the middle. OAL 35.4" and I currently have it tuned to shoot 15gr slugs at 33fpe or 996fps average.

Even at this power I'm getting over 70 shots

What's lefty friendly to you? A right hand Lever sounds perfect for a left hand shooter. You can run the action while staying on target.
The right-hand lever / cocking is Not the problem, But some of the stocks on a few of the mentioned guns have a right-hand grip and / or cheek rest on the left side of the stock only..

I have a Logun MKII in classifieds but it's definitely a right have shooter only. I get it. Unfortunately capitalism caters towards the masses.

I dont think there is anything that is currently available without removing a few of your qualifiers. AA500 or AA510 or Daystate Revere, but all break rule #5 and #7.
Yeah the price is somewhat flexible, but pretty much everything out there is a minimum 10-year-old technology...
I refuse to pay the Ludacris price for the Blackwolf so it's out .....

I know you said no FX no way, but the DRS does check a lot of boxes...

It is frustrating the pcp industry cost so much money compared to powder burners. It stings knowing what I can get for same money, but not much I can do about it. And I think the move towards bullpups is out of utility and demand, so not many wood stocked traditional options at the moment.

Hopefully there are a few offerings at this year's IWA Show that fit the bill?

I want to preface this statement below by saying I am Not an FX hater, owned a few over the years....
As to the FX DRS deal in .177 I have posted in a couple of threads about how that went ...
The amount of time spent on that gun when it 1st came out was beyond acceptable only to end up with a gun that should be considered a "shotgun" with the piss poor grouping.. as i have said before "might as well grab a handful of rocks and throw them at the target"... That platform to me is a Hunter at best as most reviewers have even called it as such...

Not to mention the way FX has treated it's loyal customers lately.. pass

Sorry I didnt realize you already tried a DRS. I own a handful of FX pcps, and while I really like them I totally understand your point of view. And I am inclined to fully agree with your assessment.

Let me ask you a question, why do you want something with newer technology? A lot of the older designs havent changed much over the years because they are proven performers. I understand wanting more power though. A side lever wood stock pcp that has enough power to push pellets and some of the 177 slugs fast enough is an ideal package.

I second what thammer stated... turkish Reximex Daystar Pretensis is awesome in .177. (thammer showed a Kuzey - essentially the same rifle as the Daystar.

I would not regulate it, but if you insisted, it uses the same Huma reg as for the Benjamin Cayden/Akela. Instead, I recommend cutting the hammer spring to 2.5 to 2.7" (5 minute job - tons of research into this). You will get a shot string like attached.

Yes, I refinished the stock - light sanding and tru-oil rubbed in (cost less than $10 and some elbow grease). Showing original finish as well.

It is about as long as an FX Crown with a 600mm barrel - that's pretty long - especially for .177

I shot a 199 15X 30-Yard Masters today with a .177 Akela in the wind. My experience is that the Turkish barrels, especially in .177, are really
good.

The Daystar is currently available and on sale at Canada Shooting Supply for about $450 (US Dollars - favorable exchange rate). Currently only the full power (PAL) .22 version is in stock. They do have the low (Canada restricted) power .177 in stock, but not the PAL .177:
