What have you done with your airgun today?

Let Theo , my corn snake use my Pcp as its playground.

I tried some new pellets and boy am I glad I did. I had been using CPHP 7.9G in my Daisy 880. 5500 pellets actually. The accuracy was okay with some tins and complete poop with others.I could see spiraling amongst other problems in my scope. Starting on 7-5- 2020 I finally recorded some data and was getting 3" groups at 22 yards. Sometimes worse. The premier domes in 10.5 grain fared better. I've shot about 1000 of those and have paper at 28 yards with about 2 inch groups. I cleaned my barrel (very black patches) and tried again with the 7.9 CPHP and got it down to 1.875 (10) shot group. I had previously done the tape mod and also superglued the barrel securely in the breech. It would slide right out. The shots are louder and I hear them get out to 45 and 55 yards a fair amount quicker.

So I bought some 7.4 G crosman premier wad cutters. Boy was I happy. At 22 yards my first 7 shots were within 3/4 of an inch. All 10 were within an inch and a half. I may record another group today on paper.

I do have my targets but havent taken photos. If anyone is interested I would make a post on this topic and my 880. I know they're a dime a dozen, but when I got mine months back there was litle data on the 880 and maybe some new shooters with an 880 would be helped by that.

I've recently been given a Gamo Socom Tactical springer. Missing a front sight and the rear one is loose. I'd love to just swap my Barska scope onto it from the 880, but am leary to for obvious reasons. In the coming weeks I'll be doing repair and maintenance on the Gamo and giving it a better home than it came from.

...I packed my AP16 up yesterday and today I am bringing it to FedEx...

...I checked the zero on my AirForce Escape and noted that the home made Bolthouse juice bottle silencer is still holding up...

...it ain't no DonnyFL but it is better than nothing...at least until it blows it's packing foam guts out...

...duct tape is like The Force...it has a light and a dark side and holds the universe together...

...don't underestimate the power of contact cement...

Wrap some duct tape around the barrel to make it rigid then it should shoot more accurately. You will notice it wobbles before.

Try the CROSMAN 7.4gr pointed (NOT the 7.9gr). You may be surprised.

My back yard plinker/pester arrived at the same time as the scope I ordered for it!!!

BSA Ultra SE .25 from forum member, looking to crank up the power just a little and it’s going to be sick! The build quality is fantastic and probably one of the best synthetic stock I’ve ever touched.

Vector Optics 3-12x44 from edgun west per YO! WOW!!! That’s helluva scope for the money! I won’t doubt you again Yo! thanks!!!

cant wait to shoot it!

Edit: Shot a string and it is SLOW(10.7 FPE)! BUT it is very consistent and accurate given it doesn't have a regulator. It also has heck of a bark, might need to order a sumo or ronin for it. Kinda sucks because my impact is quieter at 3x the power! I'm having second thought about cranking up the power on this thing given how loud it is.

UPS delivered my 2240 today. It's way to hot and humid to do any serious testing so I just did a quick function check. I tossed an empty vegetable can out into the yard and blasted away.

I must say straight out of the box or should I say blister pack this pistol shot great. It functioned just fine. The biggest surprise was the trigger. The trigger on this one felt really good so I think I will leave it alone and focus on other modes. I have a steel breech and an HP valve on order from Alcemy Gunwerks.

Those Crosman Piranhas don't normally shoot very well in most all guns. Try the 14.3gr Crosman Pointed in the 175 count tins and the cheap Crosman Premier Hollowpoints CPHPs from Wal-Mart.

Speaking of a playground (the above snake !).

I put my newly shortened Daystate Renegade on the floor after using it the other day, resting beside a box, the gun being sight, upright.

More my cat than me... Well, one of my cats figured that, that was a good invitation for something to chew on ! The upper portion of the butt pad is all chewed up..!

Just spent the last 2 hours messing with the BSA and I think I got it to where I like it, I might tune down another 10 FPS but I'm really happy how it turn out minus the bark.

--I installed a ghetto HDD but think I need better spring, might of helped? Don't know

--Took out the knock out valve restriction thing

--crank up the hammer spring a little

So I started the day with it shooting 430 FPS or 10.5 FPE, now I got it to shoot extremely flat 16 shots(exactly 2 mags) @ 570 FPS or 18-19 FPE. I got it as high as 600 FPS but it doesn't seem to like it and barks really loud even with moderator, it seems to be fairly happy at 570. I might tinker more and try 560 or 550 FPS which should gives me 3 mags or 24 shots. Consider how little the air tube is, it is really pretty good.

first 16 shots are unbelievably flat!!! I can’t get my impact to shoot that flat!!!

...today I confirmed the zero on the good ol' .20 cal. Beeman P1 with 13 grain Polymag pellets @ 48'...

...it was shooting way high and a bit to the left when I checked it yesterday...or was that me...???...

...I do wonder aboot the Hatsan 30 mm optic holding it's zero now...I don't recall having it shooting so far off...

...at least the adjustments adjust the POI predictably, once you get by the "L" for right...LoL...

...still trying to decide for sure between the standard and compact AP16 for a replacement @ the one sent back ...does that count...???...

...now I am awaiting a marauding squirrel and an opportunity for a shot with my Beeman P1...does that count...???...

...I don't actually shoot much...mostly wait...

...each shot around here is a bit of a clandestine event, with "launch control" level monitoring on "conditions" and trajectory...

...I have four "shots" set up...I prepared backstops...I would not call them ranges...

...one is from the tent...that is the pistol shot...16 yards...I rest the gun on a pillow out the window...

...the other three are from the upstairs bed room window...it is sheltered from casual view from the other houses this time of year...

...for those shots I use the Air Force Escape on a tripod...20, 24, and 26 yards, the longest shot I can figger...

...guns have come and gone but I still have the ol' Beeman P1 in service and will still use it to dispatch trapped squirrels even when the AP16 is together...
