N/A What is a good budget lightweight PCP that wont pass through sheet metal?

Hello all,
I hope I am not asking too much in my title, but basically I am looking for a replacement for our old Gamo silent cat that is a bit over 5lbs. The intended use is to clear out pigeons in our back storage area which has sheet metal walls and roof. I am looking for a light weight pcp that my father can handle more comfortably than our silent cat and wont shoot holes through the wall. We have an air compressor on site so filling shouldn't be an issue.

So far I was looking at the Benjamin Marauder Air Pistol with the carbine stock attachment but I'm worried 22's may put holes through the metal compared to the 177's in our gamo. Any thoughts on this. Its also a bit high than I would like to spend and would be the top top of my budget at around 450, but if it fits at almost half the weight of the gamo I would seriously consider it. We shoot anywhere from 20-30 feet away usually.

Appreciate any insight and suggestions. Thanks!

A Notos comes tuned to a little higher power than a Prod (Marauder Pistol) so it would be more likely to go through. My Prod came tuned to about 13 fpe. Do you know the fpe of your break barrel? A 177 will tend to penetrate further than a 22 if the fpe is the same. So as long as the Prod is not significantly higher in fpe it should be OK. I don't know how thick the metal you are shooting toward is but my guess is it will dent it but not go through. Notos may be OK too. But it will be more like 20 fpe.

All PCPs can be adjusted for power, however. The Prod just has the hammer spring adjustment but you can dial it up or down by changing the tension on the hammer spring. Other things also make a difference but if you found it too high and wanted to turn it down or the pigeons don't drop reliably enough and you want to turn it up you can. Regulated guns like the Notos can also be adjusted by either the hammer spring or the regulator. You have to disassemble the Notos to get to the regulator but I don't think that is terribly difficult.

I like my Prod but I like my P35s more. A lot of that is the weight. Unscoped they are only 5 lbs. But the Prod is lighter. The P35 is available in 177, 22, and 25. Power will be higher on the P35 but you can turn it down. The Notos is the cheapest alternative and has advantages with it's regulator and low weight and length. I think the stock also adjusts for length of pull. The trigger on the Prod or P35 will be better but break barrel triggers are often not great so it may not be a big deal. If it was me and I was hand pumping I would want the Notos or the Prod. They will not give you as many shots per charge but they don't take as many pump strokes to refill either.

If I had this problem with wing rats in the barn. I'd use my Crosman 1100 it will do a number on them

The Crosman 3622 is only 4.5 pounds and can do with a 2,000 psi fill. Could probably back the hammer spring off a little to drop the velocity. I doubt there is a lighter PCP rifle on the market other than some of the pistols as has been suggested.

Curious, but when you say you have a compressor, what kind of compressor? A PCP is going to need 2,000 psi or more, usually 3,000 psi or more.

I've used a notos that's tuned to 11 ftlbs and a prod about 14 ft lbs they both love JTS wad cutters for close range action you have to stay at least 10 yards from the tin otherwise they will zing right threw
