What is better than my Texan .257 or FX M3 .25 cal for 300 yards and beyond?

I already have the Texan .257 LSS and FX Impact M3 .25 cal. I shoot all day long at 200 and 250 yards with both at 2 inch MOA.

My club range has a 30 cal limit. I'm wondering what .25 to .308 cal pcp will shoot more accurately at 200-250 yards and even beyond 300 yards?

I am eliminating all FX guns as well as the Texan .308 cal. If you can keep "on topic" I would like to hear from you. I would consider selling all my pcp airguns and only have 1 dedicated "long range" gun. What would it be?

Remember 25 to 308 cal max.
200 to 300 yards and beyond
No FX or Texan .308
Can shoot 2 inch MOA at 200 yards

I really don't think that right now there is anything better of the shelf.. the guy from the YouTube channel the good old boys..have a new channel you could see him shoot up to 800y accurately with his 257.. and way past 300y with his FX..
Yes, I follow his new YT channel. It's the reason in bought the Texal .257. I'm wondering what can be better? Thanks for chiming in.

I would stick with the texan 257and idk what your shooting for slugs but a little heavier slug like a 80 some gr will give you better bc than a 30cal bullet at same weight I'd try to push them at 1000 fps or a tad faster 1010 it would be flatter shooting to over a 30cal
Hi Airgunmann,
Thanks for chiming in. I'm currently shooting 72-75 Griffin or AVS slugs at 2600 psi and at 950 fps. I will try a heavier slug and higher fps

For me .. what I really want is to be able to stabilize 105g in 257 .. that's why I paid for 2 barrels to be made at tj in 1-8 and 1-9 for 257 .. also almost finished my 224 condor..for up to 65g pills.. since I have molds in 50g - 55g - 60+g .. 3 barrel has been paid for testing.. 1-8.5 _ 1-9.5 _ 1-10.5 ..in 218-224..

For 300yds with an airgun, a .257 shooting 70gr to 75gr slugs at 950fps to 1020fps from a 1:14 barrel is going to be near the top for accuracy. My .257 did best at 300yds shooting the 257420 BT at 980-990fps. A BC of at least 0.150 is good enough for 300yds. Higher BC is always better but they are usually harder to launch accurately at a decent velocity (heavier hammer strike, more air blast, more recoil).

I wanted higher fpe, so I did a rebarrel in 7mm (.284). Higher BC and more energy, but not quite as accurate as the .257.

Not a lot of factory .257 airguns available, and no 7mm. For those that want an off the shelf solution, the .257 Texan would be my recommendation for a long range airgun. And you already have that.

I'd go with the biggest bottle you can get and do a 300bar rated but I'd only fill it to 250bar I remember some one showing me a bigger bottle think it was a 1liter I'll see if I can find it
Thank, but I shoot tethered. So a bigger bottle wont help when I benchrest.

Not many choices. Texans have there faults but are the most powerful with heavy slugs. There is sort of cool pcp like the Vulcan3 from Urgan . Slings moderate weight slugs with grace. Less power more ease of shooting. I'd put a regular stock on your Texan. The ultimate30 cal is the Texan with African Air Ordinance Value. It will sling the 230 grain high b.c lee mold .6 B.C at around 900-1000fps. Might be better with custom 30 cal 8 twist barrel. .6 bc at 1000 fps is tops for airgun ballistic for now... I think....
