what is the best compressor for the fx wildcat?

I recently got a good job and have extra money after watching teds videos for about a year i have decided to get my first pcp the one that i believe fits me the best is the fx wildcat in .22 but i haven't found much help on air sources i would prefer to spend as little as possible but am prepared to spend more i would also prefer a compressor as i dont have any way to fill tanks other wise so any helpful information to do with the air source or the wild cat itself would greatly be appreciated
 
"ajshoots"I would stay away from the Omega and look towards the Mrodair compressor. Also a Chinese made compressor, but faster and of better build quality. If the budget allows, a true hpa compressor like an Airtex or Bauer is the real deal.

What about the Daystate compressor? Italian made; high quality; not a Bauer, but less expensive.

The Daystate is a rebranded Coltri. I would certainly buy one as they are a solid good quality unit with proper filters and fast fill rates!!

Southern, The shoebox is a wonderful little unit, but is very slow!! After you add the cost of a first stage compressor and proper filters, the price is that or above other units that are much faster. Since the shoebox is just a glorified booster, they really need a lower price point to be an option since they are so painfully slow.

I have the Shoebox Max (with upgrades) and have over 100 hours on it with no rebuilds yet. It's a proven compressor but it is slow compared to the newer ones on the market. Here is their forum with tons of info on the unit.

Even though they are slow, I would take a shoebox over an omega, but that is just me. The shoebox has outstanding support and parts availability. The Omega is a cheaply built unit that support and parts is an unknown. Even though the Mrodair compressor is new and most buyers are still waiting on them, I would buy one over an omega anyday. That being based on the fact that the mrodair is built with proven true hpa technology. My comments about the shoebox may seem critical, but they are true. However, I still think the shoebox is a great unit and I am sure you would be very happy with one. I will recommend that regardless of what you buy, do yourself a favor and buy a top quality filter for your compressor. The Joe B filter is the one you want, but very pricey.

I have the omega, have 110 hours , no problems.. tops a 75 cu ft tank off in a little over an hour from 2950-4600 psi .. I use the diablo air dryer and set the auto bleed to 15 min at 2 sec blow down. check my tanks for corrosion once in a while and have not seen any signs of moister.. Have an original shoe box, put 100 hours on it and did a rebuild. the omega is 4 times faster than my shoe box. Works off of standard 110 volt outlet, run it down in the conditioned air in the man cave, its quiet.

I have a Shoebox Freedom 8 plus a JB filter/dryer. I like the adjustable automatic cut off and ease at which one can lube the Shoebox compressor and rods. I also like the fact I can easily put it in the car and take it with me to a range or friends place. I don't think the other compressors being discussed lend themselves to being transportable.. The Shoebox also came with everything needed for a rebuild and the rebuild looks easy.

I already had a other 150 and 200 psi shop compressors so that was not a cost add for me. The only downside is it is slower as everyone noted. No big deal for me though as I start it up and forget about it and come back to my tank sitting right at the psi I set. I fill the guns off my tank so I only use the Shoebox like once every two to four weeks.

Customer support and communication from ShoeBox is top notch.
