What is the best deal on a quality Chronograph?

I need to buy a chronograph. Whats the best one out there?

Separate question: Whats the best quality one I can get for cheap.

Although far from the most expensive, I recently purchased a Caldwell (had a lot of Cabelas gift cards) and have not been disappointed.

Pro chrono$ 109 im sure u could find it cheaper works like a rock star have a friend whos been using the same one for the last 10 yrs. I shot a hole in mine. DOAH and it keeps on ticking

I f you check the classified I have a Brand New Chrony Gamma Master for sale $150 delivered USA. It goes for around $200 
and it also comes with a printer. It’s never been out of the box it came in. I ordered 2 but my plans to use the second one changed.

Digital ProChrono for the money you can’t go wrong,mines well over 10years old and have never had a issue.

I've had the ProChronograph for several years (mostly for archery). I bought a Caldwell last year. I had high expectations for the Caldwell, I was very disappointed. I was very careful to follow instructions, proper light kit, etc. and that Caldwell is nearly 50% error message. Maybe I got a lemon? I very rarely diss equipment but I have to tell you my experience. I would not buy it again. Cost more than the pro as well. 

The Pro has fallen from about 7-8' off a shelf (twice-duh) in my house. Still works perfectly. 

The two chronographs do give the same readings (within 1-2 FPS) but the Pro is just more dependable.

I have a pro chrono and it works great. Got the lights with it and use it for testing in my basement. Flawless.

I will say it again this is your best bet. It doesn't require any lighting and is used by the world field target federation at their worlds matches. I've had the privilege to us one as well and they are great.

Just about every one that is recommended on this blog will do the job for you. I have found its a bit of a learning process to find the sweet spot the pellet need to travel to be read. Some models need to be set up on a tripod others will work well just sitting on the table in front of your gun. I just ordered one that attaches to the barrel for convenience. See what you want to spend and as long as you follow the instructions I’m sure it willl work for you. When you see one that you think is right just do a web search and abs see what others have experienced. On reason I ordered the one that straps on the barrel I don’t worry about myself or others shooting it.

Best and lowest cost, pro chrono digital ( NOT the "pro") cost $99.00 many places, used at the US FT Nationals and Worlds, works just fine. (9 strings s of 99 mumbers in recall) freads fps, figure min/max/average/SD . Outstanding unit for the money.

If it is "needed" for you you can uprage it to your phone & such now.
