What is the best rifle to shoot in a garage?

The best starter garage pistol is the P17 and some RWS Diabolo Basic wadcutters. Throw a pair of old jeans in a cardboard box, put a target up and see what's what. Whole setup is less than $50. The P17 has a decent trigger but care must be taken when cocking. The pistol can pinch a hand if not careful.

I shoot in my basement & have an "official" 10m target range there. Any airgun will do depending on your baskstop, I just use the concrete wall & sweep up the pellets periodically. As has been said, rifles dont really present much of a challenge, even offhand. However pistols are great fun! Crossman 2240 or 1377 are a great & inexpensive way to get into it. They are both fairly accurate very customizeable so there is much enjoyment to be had shooting & tinkering all for relatively little money.

It is of course possible to go hog wild & spend a bundle on target grade pistols if you like as well.

ANY...gun that YOU...like.

I also shoot a short distance...in the house. I use a foam archery target with paper targets stuck to it.

I have both somewhat cheaper rifles and more expensive (well into the four digit bracket), rifles (and pistols). The distance doesn't matter, as long as, YOU are happy with what's in your hands.
