I got a replacement gauge for one of my texan CF bottles. When the new one arrived it had this black rubber like sealant on the threads. Does anybody know what this stuff is? Thanks for any help!
What is the black substance/sealant Airforce airguns puts on their psi gauges?

If I had to guess it's more than likely PTFE or better known as black teflon plumbers thread sealing tape. I do believe Crosman used it on discovey rifles when they were first made. It comes in a variety of colors.
