Hatsan What is the diameter of the transfer port on the Hatsan 125 FAC and have you seen anything this unusual?

It seems like I'm not at all unusual among airgunners in having a fascination with overpowered springers. For me, it's got nothing to do with needing one. I've already got more than one PCP that can put out over 40 fpe and stack pellets on top of each other. Rimfires too for that matter. Spring guns just appeal to me in a way that PCP's don't and powerful spring guns are particularly appealing.

What I'd really like to see is a springer that can put out 40+ fpe. It wouldn't need to have Theoben quality craftsmanship, but rather should just be very solid and as modular as possible and something that was designed to be tinkered with. Judging by the level of enthusiasm exhibited on any thread that deals with magnum springers I'm guessing that I'm not alone in wanting a 12+ pound spring cannon.

I think the old Patriot or Beeman Kodiak would be enough to me. The Gamo 1250 Hunter is too ugly and the Diana 350 too long, both are too long.
Don't trust in those Hatsan airguns. By the way, 30 mm piston diameter is well enough to me. Just an enhanced, long stroked HW80.
I used to have a .25 Kodiak and it's a rifle that I loved shooting but really wasn't all that good. The bluing and the build quality on them are top notch. In that regard a Hatsan isn't in the same league. Mine had a trigger on it that was mediocre at best though which I understand is the way most are and it was also very hold sensitive. I've currently got a .30 Hatsan 135 and as a shooter, it's objectively a better rifle. The Quattro trigger is one of those things which out of the box was pretty horrible, but with a lot of fiddling can be made to be pretty good. I find it much less hold sensitive and it's significantly more powerful. It's also got a scope rail on it that takes Weaver mounts and that's a huge improvement in itself.

It's still a Hatsan however. Just when you're thinking they really knocked it out of the park with this one you try and disassemble it only to have a screw break on you when you do. Still, I definitely feel like I got my $300 worth with it.

Now if Weihrauch could be convinced to make their version of a Patriot I'd be all over it.

Weihrauch did, if they did for the export market only.* Along BB Pelletier they couldn't design the 80 out of the 35 on their own they needed help from Dr. Robert Beeman (for just lengthening the piston stroke by 2cm) maybe it'd take two doctores now for 3.5 cm more stroke :) .
Quite easy to design: Same rifle but 120 mm stroke, tube then about 5.5 cm longer, cocking link pivot about 1.5 cm forward, 3 cm longer piston weighing then about 400g.
Rifle overall length about 121 cm (with 50 cm barrel, not too long) Just need someone to machine it.

*Surely some German "experts" will purchase such a HW120 in cal. 0.177, stroke it down to 5 cm and pretend it then to be the best air rifle ever.
