What is the quietest silencer you have?

Probably whatever Air Arms put on my s510. The first time I shot it, I thought it was broke.
My S410E has a pencil thin shroud that works extremely well. I don't think its so much the shroud though. I think that AirArms just did a really good job of efficiently metering the air flow.

sumo is the largest I have. It does a great job on the AG’s I put it on. I bought it for my PP700 22 cal, pistol carbines can get loud. And I shoot pests and night and want to be silent.

But I also have a 3D printed mod for my S200 and makes it absolutely silent. And the S200 at 12 fpe is shockingly loud with nothing on it.

I have a 25 cal P35 and had a Cricket Tactical 25 cal. Both have excellent shrouds and a small moderator like a Tatsu is all they need to be silent.

So like what has already been stated, it all depends

Brand new person, asking on moderators. A bit fishy to me. No location on their profile either. Even shadier.
Cans have become so mainstream over the past decade that I really don't think that a noob asking about them is very suspicious anymore.

Those fuel filter and solvent trap ads from places like Kinglyday on the other hand, now those are fishy.

I've got a DFL Tanto, Tatsu and a BuckRail modular moderator. Of the 3, the BuckRail does the best job with my .177 Dreamtac and it's half the cost of the DFLs.
I've got a Tanto on my HW95 and it works pretty well on that. Not that a springer really needs a high performance moderator, but it does quiet it down some and it's strong enough to act as a lever and I suspect that a printed moderator would eventually break if used in that manner.

Fx impact when it was tuned to FTTs. Somehow I turned the wheel and got it waaay off. Now it wastes so much air nothing could keep it quiet. I have to get it and the labradar to the range and get to the velocity I had set. I should then hear the hammer strike. It wears a pretty black DonnyFL right now. My HW springers with HW moderators are close enough to backyard quiet not silent. Be Well Brothers, 'dito.

Ive got tatsu, tanto, Huma 40, and the buckrail is the most effective on a few of the guns, specifically my loudest gun, moderates the sound level and makes the tone much more agreeable. I'd have to say my $40 cheap 3dP'd bucker. I like what I own, I quickly dispose of that which I don't. Been hearing good things about Silent Thunder Ordnances sarissa
.. im ordering one next payday. We shall see.

DFL's are oversized, "Idiot Proof", and loud! The quietest moderator is always going to be the ones sized correctly and tightly for the ammo it's shooting and has the most volume. The "Quietest Moderator" I have ever used in 5 years of shooting PCP airguns is the Huggett Astille. Most people don't like them because they look like a Dildo (Conical "Nose Cone" shape). If you don't care what it looks like and are concerned solely with a quiet moderator it's definitely worth checking out. The Huggett Atom, Belitta, and Snipe are also very good moderators. For reference, I have used Huggets (my favorite), DFL's, FX Empty cans, STO Sarissa and Faulx, 0db (very close to Huggett, same construction but slightly oversized), Impulse Air 1350, and an overbarrel Fox 600 series.

Stock OEM on my AA S510XS .22
Hello,
May I ask you if your S510 is sub 12fp and therefore so quit ?
I’m on the edge to buy an AA S510 Tactical FAC in .22 and since my brother’s dog (living both 😉on the same farm) is very ear sensitive and stresses around when she hears shooting, It’s very important to me to be as quiet as possible !
Since in my country silencers are strictly prohibited, unless on airguns and irrevocably fixed to the barrel, I have the opportunity to order said airgun with the OEM silencer glued on (the one with some kind of carved groove in the middle). I couldn’t decide yet, since I read the comment of an user (seemingly newbie to pcp’s) advising to “get an adapter to change moderator because the original one was “pretty loud ”…”
So you may understand my surprise when reading your comment about the OEM being one of the quietest at all !
Unfortunately, I can’t just order the gun and test it, once ordered (and paid!) there is no return possible anymore (and no silencer exchange either). Therefore I would be very grateful for your precious help !
Thanks a lot, sorry for my bad English and best regards from the country of chocolate and cheese 😉

Hello Farmboy my s510 is .22 and puts out 30-32 ft lbs depending on pellet weight. The s510 is easy to adjust velocity via the 5 position power adjuste. In the middle position it shoots JSB 18.13 at about 725 fps and is very quiet . I usually shoot the next level up for 825 fps and 40 shots on a fill. At that setting shooting from inside a 8x12 shed it measures 89db with a cheapo db meter placed approximately 1 foot in front of the muzzle. It has 1 more useful power setting at 1 click down from the mid point setting and there it will shoot 18 gr JSB at 600 fps for 70 shots on a fill and is RedRyder quie. To be clear I have the S510 XS Ultimate Sporter version of this versatile gun.

Thank you so much for your kind and quick reply !
It´s now close to 01AM over here, but it definitely was worth the wait !
I’ve just checked: “mine” would also be a XS model (always thought XS (like for clothing) meant the shorter/est version…), and therefore have the very same internals and barrel length as yours.
So I´ll place my order right away tomorrow morning (actually today morning 😉)
Thanks again, best regards and always safe and happy shooting !
