What is the reason that Walther has discontinued the LGV and LGU air rifles?

I had my Walther out yesterday. It really is a fine air rifle.

I had both an LGU and a TX200. I decided one of them would go due to a variety of conditions. I sort of knew the LGU was a limited gun and the TX200 would be around for ever. I kept the LGU

I am very satisfied with the LGU after extensive trigger work and a design change I made by adding a second adjustment screw that works even better than the two screw aftermarket triggers that can be had.

The trigger issue was a misstep for Walther. They were targeting people who were considering the TX200 and HW97k. Both guns are known for great triggers but tend to be twangy. Walther fixed the twang issue, making their guns smooth as butter but they stuck in a plastic trigger with a weird articulated safety system, spring activated trigger return and misplaced stage adjustment screw. All of these are ‘fixable’ but everyone heard about the trigger issues and figured they would rather deal with twang than a mushy lawyer trigger.

The LGU and LGV are great rifles if you don’t mind getting your hands dirty to make them what they were meant to be.

PS. Rowan Engineering has a good trigger replacement solution.
