What is your favorite rust prevention cleaner?

WD40 Specialist,...total different product.
I think it was between those two, the Specialist and the Frog Lube. However, the Frog Lube is eco friendly, smells nice, and comes in those nice sheets. I really think that makes the edge for me personally. I think a lot of the products mentioned above are awesome though so no dig on whatever works for somebody else.

Used the Frog, and it smelled clean. When I first got it was in a plastic bag, when I broke the seal, bad. Using it was nice. I rubbed it on the surface of my jointer and it cleaned. This is before 0F79829D-6055-4CD9-9D92-1F99173EF319.jpeg Rubbed Frog in a second time removing more rust. I gave it a rub with this Griddle block. F972ECFB-9462-4F1F-9A71-7628A103E237.jpeg and then more Frog. 4-5 min. tops. C5BBD6E7-0F92-4E76-8AB5-3B1B4D5E24E8.jpeg. I’ll watch for any change for next week or two.
I’m coming in and out daily with freezing temps, always worried about condensation on barrel. Thanks Crow

That article is what turned me on to ghe WD40 Specialist Corrosion Inhibitor. It isn't a CLP product, not made for cleaning or lubricating, it's exactly what it says it is a corrosion stopper. It does work, having prevented rust on blued steel guns as well as tools out in my shop which is open to outside humidity. The Hornady One Shot is a dry film lubricant and rust preventative too. I didn't really test it much as a corrosion stopper but it does make an excellent trigger and bolt mechanism cleaner and lube on firearms. Dissolves old grime then evaporates leaving the non oily lube film behind. Shooters Choice Rust Prevent is fairly good stuff, it leaves a waxier coating for rust prevention. It rubs off easier than the WD40 Specialist Corrosion Inhibitor but still a good product. I stopped using Eezox after I got rust spots all over my Evanix Renegade once. I had hunted on a hot humid afternoon, got home late at night and decided to leave the rifle in the car, in a soft case in the trunk. Got it out the next morning and rust all over the place, some deep enough to leave permanent stains on the gun.
