What is your "Go-to" rifle? The one just come to "first in your mind" in like survival situation, not second guessing/overthinking. And of course, no powder burner.
1st: RWS Diana 48 in .22 simple, affordable than AA, HW and no need for support equipment: pump, compressor, tank, scope, etc. Just rifle and some tins of pellets.

BSA Supersport or Lightning Carbine. Same platform but different stocks. They’re both workhorses, compact, light and pointable.

For a PCP I’d pick a 3000psi fill big bore carbine so it would be easy to pump. A Crosman 7/8 tube platform gun with a Powerhouse valve or MAP valve would do.

DAQ XL in .22 would be 2nd pcp choice. 3 orings in the gun and super easy to service. You need a flathead and one size Allen key to disassemble. Not the most accurate or powerful but the easy to maintain and built like a tank.

Any quality spring gun would work, if you are limiting yourself to an air rifle, which seems kind of odd. It seems to me, a good .22 RF and a brick of ammo would be a far better choice, lighter, more power, and reliable forever.
True but some places and countries you have to go through a check and you would only be allowed so many bullets and have to account for them yearly.

You must mean state, because it certainly happens far too much on a national level. I bet if you look closer citizens rights HAVE been infringed upon within your state.
Here in the United States we have something called The Bill of Rights. Our rights are all spelled out and yes they are infringed on, on a daily basis by some and taken away in some states by some , but as a whole, our nation is still the best in the world as far as the rights we haven't given up or let be taken away as many other nations and people have. This is not a political statement, it is a proven fact.🇺🇸

I believe my air rifle would. 325 grains at 1587fps should do.
So a black bear decided your lunch and charges you, let's not even fantasize about a brown Grizzly, unless you a poised and ready and you get a direct brain shot, you have what? 1 good shot, then 1 sub power shot, then one really sub powered shot, depending on your air rifle?ALL as the bear is charging you and how long does it take to reload aim and fire, in this survival situation? How far do you think the bear would be before it decided to charge? Do you know how much land a black bear can cover at a dead run? Unless all the stars align, he will get to you long before he is dead...even if mortally wounded, because that's what wild animals do.
I'll rely on a AR10 and a whole bunch of freedom seeds, and a whole bunch of holes if I had a choice in that scenario.🐻

Some of you jumped to some conclusions. Who said anything about a charging bear in my post? I'm talking hunting, from the safety of distance.
I haven't done it but I have to believe that my Zeus would drop a bear in a hunting situation,

Point taken, my mistake. If you read some of the posts to which you were responding, a defensive situation was their reference, so it's kind of confusing.

Airgun to stop a bear? Most firearms aren't even up to the task if the bear is already in attack mode, the bear may end up dead, minutes after you do.

An Air Cannon however certainly would dispatch any bear roaming the wild, however good luck carrying one around unless that is your intent, hunting bear on air.

Rule 3 "Self-defense, illegal use, or unsafe operation/handling with an airgun is prohibited."

Airguns aren't for survival and I thought that went against the rules of discussion here but I guess rules are selectively upheld.

While we might be better off than some, lets not be delusional because we are NOT free and our rights that should be pretty clear, are infringed upon on a daily basis.
