What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

Hello everyone,

Another great morning with very low wind conditions. So it is time to pick a paper target that will give the Avenger a full challenge. I still consider this “8 by 8 Competition Target” as one of the hardest to shoot. I love it when I shoot the center eight perfect  .

Range: 10-Meters Outdoors
Rifle: Air Venturi Avenger .22 caliber w/ new low power settings
Scope: Vector 6-24x50 FFP
Pellets: JSB Jumbo 15.18gr
FPS: 536
FPE: 10.10
Benchrest: Rifle Rest
Wind: 0 - 5 mph

Hello everyone,

Shooting more paper targets with the Avenger rifle early this morning outdoors with no wind. Kind of hard to follow what @igolfat8 and his buddy, @reiffra945 shot in their video but still pleased how accurate these rifles are. This was my first warm up target 😁

Hello @Ranchibi

I know polishing the bore of the barrel does do some good, cannot say for sure, but the rifle is surely shooting better than when I first got it. Also, remember I am now shooting it on the "low power tune", and the lighter weight pellets. This really makes me happy when I do the "work" and then see good results 😁

Well i did also shoot today, but not much really, just had a tin to finish off before i left the range to visit my dear old mother before i headed home.
but about 1500 little lumps of lead was dispatched in the past days.

But yesterday i did play a little Annihilate the red base at 130 ish yards, using 13 grain Zan slugs in the Two.
A bit sluggish as i was also dialing, and that also show on the paper / targets, at least not hard to figure out which was my first target.

Also dont let some of the way out holes fool you, i had to some times take a shot at clean paper after a dial, and for this i often use the corners of my backing.

Fantastic 130yd slug groups with your .177 Epic! Nice video 👍

I was testing a new batch of AA 10.3's at 50 yards to see if they were in a "reasonable" to sort batch. A few wild ones. Under 0.50" 5-shot groups and the first 5 shots were 10's. Worth the effort. I think.

Avenge-X at 50-yards on low setting with unsorted AA 10.3s.

Hello everyone,

Shooting some warm up / adjust the scope targets this morning. Shot some Wadcutter pellets yesterday and had to re-zero the scope to shoot the 15.89's today. Started on the left on the bottom row and worked up to top row. Found the sweet spot on the center row.

Rifle: Air Venturi Avenger .22 caliber w/ new low power settings
Scope: Vector 6-24x50 FFP
Pellets: JSB Jumbo 15.89gr

Well, with winter right around the corner and highs in the 50s it’s time to basement shoot. Today I set up my new 22cal HW44 so I can practice National match. I moved one of my Ultra Dot Matchdot sights from a powder burner over to this pistol and readjusted the dot for 7yds. I was shooting 50feet with 22cal powder burner. I cheated and did two hand hold so I could be sure of its zero and shot full 10 shot clip.

So now on to National Match practice (sort of) but at half the distance, because that's what I have. Oh, the trigger is about 3-4 ounces! So I have to be real careful.

Hello @rsfrid

OK two things :

One, that sure is a great looking rig (y) (y) (y)

Two, come on now you can't start out with a perfectly shot card :(. You have to have several stray shots and then over time work up to a really great group.

Thomas, keep in mind that I shot this two handed grip. In National Match we shoot one hand strong side with arm fully extended. Weak hand goes in pocket or belt. No groups with that type shooting - the goal is to get as close to one hundred points as possible in each stage. I will only be practicing slow fire - 10 shots with 100 points max score. I'm really pleased with the Weihrauch and the trigger.

TC, Ross
