What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

There ya go! I see a friendly competition coming this winter. This style shooting is called National Match and typically shot at 50feet, but I say any distance is valid because we ain't Olympiads. Anything over 90 points on a single card is great. Anything over 275 for typical 3-card match is great. Let’s boogie! 🤪😂😅
Hello @rsfrid

Well it surely will be friendly  ;) , but I am no match for you for Off-hand shooting. However, shooting benchrest, now that is a whole different story 😁.

Hello everyone,

Picked a bucket of Jalapeno peppers this morning and my hands were numb when I got back in the house, a sure sign for me to shoot indoors today 🥶.

Shot several Off-Hand targets again this morning and this was my best one. I had two double hits and two X’s and then my last shot I said “aw shucks” ( or something kinda like that 🤬🤬🤬 ). I had removed the Red Dot Scope and reinstalled the Iron Sights and really felt more comfortable. The Red Dot exaggerates my shakey hands and was causing me to pause too long before shooting.

Range: 15 - Feet Indoors
Rifle: Diana Bandit .177 caliber
Scope: None used Iron Sights
Pellets: H&N Finale Match 8.18gr Wadcutter
FPS:
FPE:
Offhand Standing

Hello @beerthief

This is going to be a fun Winter exercise for everyone that will join in and shoot some friendly competition Off-Hand targets.

Good luck and waiting to see your shot paper targets.

Hello everyone,

I’m going to change my name from ThomasT to “Ole Number 9" 🤪 . Boy I just cannot get all 10 shots in the black. However with that said, I am still pleased with these two paper targets that I shot this morning. I put one paper target on each of my two Big Bang Pellet Traps and shot them in order 😁.

Yesterday and this morning I did shoot a lot of practice targets and did some adjusting to the Iron Sights. I also painted the upper portion of the Rear Sight yellow and the Front Blade Sight white. This contrast really has helped me see a much better contrast between the Sights and the paper target.

You’re getting there Thomas. Are you shooting Olympic style - one handed extended?

A bit of National Match shooting with my new Weihrauch HW44 22cal. I can only practice slow fire with this pistol due to its configuration, shoot, cock, shoot, cock. National Match pistols are typically semi-auto for the timed relays. But this is good enough for my old bones. 3 stages posted in order. Score for each stage written near top of target. Shot with JSB 15.89 pellets lubed and sorted. There are truly 10 shots on each card - a few hole-in-2.

Today's score is 279 out of 300. My best annual average when shooting PBs indoors was about 275-280.

Hello @rsfrid

Yes I am.

Still not real comfortable with my hold and set up and trying different things. Holding the Pistol at arms length and trying to get a shot off as quickly as possible so that I do not get to shaking too much. No excuses but 83 years has taken it's toll on my old body and eyes. But I am having fun and this Off-Hand will give me another venue for this Winter in door shooting.

Great outlook, Thomas. Try arm/shoulder strengthening by holding a small weight out arm length while you’re sitting around not doing anything. Over time you hold will get steadier.

Hello everyone,

I just temporally installed a BugBuster scope mounted with just one ring to bench shoot the Bandit. Tim @igolfat8 as you can see not a perfect card but remember I have done nothing to this new Pistol, not even clean the barrel. After I do all the cleaning and tuning I will bench shoot it again and post the results here.

Rifle: Diana Bandit .177 caliber
Scope: BugBuster 3-9x32
Pellets: H&N Finale Match 8.18gr Wadcutter

Thomas, I don't have the Bandit (I have the Chaser and the Airbug CO2 versions) and I didn't find them very accurate. They’re not bad, just not consistent Xs in regular shooting. If you can wring out great accuracy/consistency from your Bandit then Kudos to you. I just don't think the barrels are as good as other pistols in the price range.

Great shooting! Sure looks worthy to me. If you get a chance, try shooting the NRA B-2 50 feet National Match target. Circles are not as forgiving as Thomas' target you are using.
i was aiming center blue dot @ 15 feet from the muzzle . I think i need to adj. the sight a bit most everything is to the right.

Hello @beerthief

I count 12 shots total: 2-X's, 11 in the 10-Ring and only 1 in the 9-Ring. Stan that is near perfect shooting for this target 😁 . I'm giving you my rare (y)(y)(y)(y) four thumbs up.

OK, you and Ross @rsfrid are no longer allowed to compete in the Off-Hand competition :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
