What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

I really didn’t know that “offhand” meant no support at all. I thought it meant no support from bags, truck bed rails, tripods, etc.

All is well. The target is nice because it is so easy to see not only from 15’ but also easily twice that.
yes i can see using this target @ 30 and 50 yards for sighting in a scope . .

A bit of National Match shooting with my new Weihrauch HW44 22cal. I can only practice slow fire with this pistol due to its configuration, shoot, cock, shoot, cock. National Match pistols are typically semi-auto for the timed relays. But this is good enough for my old bones. 3 stages posted in order. Score for each stage written near top of target. Shot with JSB 15.89 pellets lubed and sorted. There are truly 10 shots on each card - a few hole-in-2.

Today's score is 279 out of 300. My best annual average when shooting PBs indoors was about 275-280.
i am hopeing for a short winter so i don't get beat up this bad every day . 😎

Not 50’. I shoot at 7 yards all the time. When I shot National Match at 50’ my average scores were similar. That was with 22LR and a Hammerli custom pistol.
Thanks for the explanation Ross. I tried shooting with these stock black sights at 10M and it was a complete blurrrrrrrr. They are horrible for these old eyes. I will put on a 3-12 scope and see how that does. I might even try a red dot sight too but only AFTER I work on this horrible trigger. If you shot pistols and matches then you know how critical it is for accuracy to have a good trigger.

Hello @igolfat8

That is why I painted those black iron sights on my Pistol. With a black background on a target my sights almost disappeared.

My other equipment is due in tomorrow so I will also be working on my trigger and do a complete clean, oil and grease on this Pistol 😁 .

Hello everyone,

I am now a member of the “10 - N - the Black Club” :D. I shot a bunch of these paper targets this morning and after shooting three I had to stop and take an long break. I almost got 10 shots on the black with my first card except for that one wild shot . The next two were even worst so I stopped. I realized I was trying way too hard and shot a pretty good fourth card and stopped again. Came back and shot this fifth card a bit differently. I would shoot 2 times and then stop and relax and then shoot two more times. Sure glad that the wadcutters leave such clean round holes so that my 3-X’s can be seen 😁.

I plan to work on my trigger today Thomas and I will try to remember (the key word is remember) to take some pics and share any tips that I learned in the process. I’m also looking forward to seeing your Bandit pistol mods too Thomas.
Hello @igolfat8

I might go ahead and start to work on mine today because I don't plan to shoot any more targets. I'm thinking about removing the Moderator and try using a hairdryer to apply the needed heat ?????

Hello @Ranchibi

I worked on the Diana Bandit and removed the Moderator, Polished the Barrel Bore, Replaced the Hammer Spring with a modified Spring, removed all of the Trigger parts and washed them with alcohol, adjusted the Safety Button, cut and stretch the Main Spring, polished all of the contact surfaces on all Trigger parts. Then reassembled and coated with oil or grease as needed. Needless to say it shoots a whole lot better and feels better with the weight of the Moderator removed. Hopefully this will help me shoot a little bit better groups.
