What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

Hello everyone,

Well I am retiring from the Winter Competition Pistol shooting Venue of the “Reticle Scope Division”. This morning I removed the Red Dot scope and installed my BugBuster 3-9x32 Reticle Scope onto the “Chameleon” in order to shoot some paper targets in this Venue. I am posting two photos of the same card, one “as shot” and the other “with labels”. I have never shot any target this well, ever 🤩. This crazy little Pistol is so dog-gone accurate that it is crazy. After shooting the first target I did slow down and take extra time concentrating on each shot.

Range: 15 - Feet Indoors
Pistol: Diana Bandit .177 caliber modified w/Buck Rail AR Conversion & Grip
Scope: UTG BugBuster 3-9x32 Scope
Pellets: H&N Sport 8.18gr Wadcutter
FPS: 475
FPE: 5.9
Position: Bench with Bipod Front and Lab Jack rear

Awesome shooting sir Thomas! Good idea of the scissor lift under your grip too. Don’t retire that set up yet Thomas. We have to bear down on Ross and see if we can up our games to shoot single hole groups against his scores.

You could also change the scoring format of that target to use worst edge scoring which would increase the difficulty for most of us mere mortals … except Ross.

Hello @igolfat8

Tim as you well know Ross can shoot those one hole targets blind folded . I am pretty sure he misses sometimes on purpose just to trick the rest of us into believing we have a chance :sneaky:.

Moving off of the bags and going to the Bipod and better rear support has made a huge improvement for me. With that said, I am so pleased with this inexpensive Bandit with no regulator to shoot so well. I think the challenge with this gun just adds to the “fun of shooting”.

You and I both have put in a fair amount of work modifying our Pistols to improve the performance and that effort is now showing:D

I hear ya brother. I too am pleased with my inexpensive ($150) Bandit. It’s a lot of fun shooting it. I can get about 25 - 30 shots from mine but realistically only about 15 good shots in the sweet spot of the fill curve. That’s totally fine with me. I picked up one of those EdGun EZ Fill gizmos and it works great for filling my Bandit.

To top it off it shoots the inexpensive Wally World CPHPs pretty darn good too so what’s not to like about having some cheap fun?

Glad to see you got with the program @ThomasT. Yes that pistolaro can chute, so it’s down to you to make it shine. You’re well on the way of a one hole bandit. 😅

Mike, Just consider adding a Bandit in your future. I’m using mine as a pellet dispenser to use up all the useless ammo I have around that simply isn’t accurate in any of my other guns. Shooting at 10M or less, pretty much any ammo works to bring much needed winter time lead therapy and a smile to an otherwise boring dreary day.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::LOL:

Hello @rsfrid

I am encouraged with how well it is shooting but dare not expect it to match your HW. I am hoping to keep so much pressure on you, that you will break and loose you keen ability :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: and I can swoop in like a Vulture on a 3 day old carcass :giggle:

I think i might be sick, only 500 shots this weekend.

Exclusive shooting using digi scope, also filmed a lot with it, but really with that much digital zoom and on papars it dont look good at all.
Also must say using this newfangled kind of scope, take some getting used to, and sure not better shooting off the shoulder when i look at my video i think, "you need a Parkinsons checkup M8 "

The ammo 10.4gr JST dead centers.
First shooting them way hot on Friday, but string was nice. ( 56 BAR on the REG )

Chrono 950.jpg

Dialed back a hour later to just over 900 and things flew a lot better, though TBH i think slower yet will not hurt.

Chrono 900.jpg

Some paper shot today ( Saturday ) with just 1 hole for each spot, later i of course tore it all up with 5 shot groups.
As you can see the rifle, or me can still throw a curb ball with a shot uncomfortable far from the point of aim.

30 M distance

Best 5 shot group of today. ( 30 M )

30M group.jpg

Oneleaf need to update the NV500 scope, the bitrate is way too low. 6 mbit for 4K 120 FPS recording, that's 10 X lower than dashcams record in single channel 4K mode recording just 30 FPS ( same sensor )

Also shot the single rat that popped its ugly head out last night, but 2 hours later and no more had come, so we called it a day just past midnight.
Of course i forgot to start a recording on the scope before i fired

Well broke out my cheapo Diana Airbug CO2 pistol for some shooting this morning. What a crappy trigger after shooting the Weihrauchs. But I did the best I could. It’s plain that target one was getting used to the fence post trigger. Full mag dump (9 shots) each card.

Thomas, I've got 5 mags for this as I also have a Chaser that is basically a stripped down Airbug - both CO2. The mags are problematic and I need to keep them separated as a couple don't feed well. I shot a third card this afternoon and first three shots were exact center and same hole. Rest of the shots were all over (a 1” group). Had to force a couple pellets into chamber so that led to the open group. This is exactly why I gave up shooting this thing in favor of the Weihrauchs. The Airbug "can do well" I just can't depend on it always doing well.

Hello @rsfrid

Yeah those little factory mags are a bit hard to mess with. However the CARM and the Maple mags are great to handle and use and that I why I use them. However your little Pistol is still darn accurate and those are two well shot targets.
