What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

Hello everyone,

Late start for me today to do my paper target shooting just too many “projects” to take care of. However I dusted off the Bandit and placed five pellets all in the Gold on each target 😊 .

Range: 15 - Feet Indoors
Pistol: Diana Bandit .177 caliber modified w/Buck Rail AR Conversion & Grip
Scope: Hawkeye Red Dot
Pellets: H&N Sport 8.18gr Wadcutter
FPS: 475
FPE: 5.9
Position: Bench with Bipod and Lab Jack rear

Hi Guys
Went to the range for some practice. Did a card at 50 and then did a practice 100 yard
1 shot per target ..sorry the middle rt is very hard to see, but bot are X's ..Try seeing that at 100yards 😜 .Almost double shot them
Used my Epoch in .22 using JTS 22.07g pellets @975 FPS

This is a 50 yard indoor

Not quite Big Momma style…yet…but getting much closer👍

Looks like a 248 on your top card Mike. Good shooting. That 100Y is impressive too. Now you need to shoot those outdoors and I hope you can do as well in the wind?

Thanks Tim
I am hoping to do a lot more outdoor shooting
Still making minor changes to my front rest and rear bags
Have a new scope coming in soon to see if it might help me to see those hidden shots in the red. Just a little extra magnification, and hopefully, some clarity.

I liked your last Vid
You 2 sure do take down a number of pests during your outings ..good show

Hello @manabeknives

Shooting my house flies target. TX200 MKIII at 50-feet. Using AA 10.3 Field Heavy Sorted to 10.4 grains. Vortex Diamondback 6-24x50mm. Rock Br and rear bag.

Scored as 3 points head, 2 points body and 1 point wings or legs. Plug is head of .177 pellet (not skirt).

Total 34/45. Not great but enjoyable.

Hello @Ranchibi

To me it is such a challenge to shoot paper targets with a Red Dot Scope and a pleasing reward when things go right. It might just be my eye sight, but I do not see a clean perfect round dot in the scope when I am viewing on paper. On a squirrel at say 15 to 20 yards, I do see a red dot / round circle but do not concentrate on the "dot" as much as where it is on the squirrel. On the paper I am learning where to place the "irregular dot" for the final POI. Bottom line, this is FUN  .

That's my problem with red dot sites of any style. Maybe some astigmatism, don't know, but flare for sure. I'm trying to concentrate on the target not the red dot and that helps. Cross hairs are still best for my eyes.

Hello @rsfrid

That is the word I could not think of, "flare". What I see is a "flare spot" not so much as a Dot. Yes, I agree that a sharp Cross Hair reticle is so much easier to see for my poor old eyes.

Shot a little 5G30 as i call it, 5 shot groups at 30 M, no picture to share as i was experimenting with speed and also just shot for 2 hours or so as i got off to a late start and the day end damn fast in Denmark this time of the year.
So at 4 in the afternoon i packed down the rifle and went home.

Will be returning for many more hours of shooting Monday and Tuesday as weather look to be pretty much ideal, not least Tuesday.

But i now have one more empty JTS tin to use for other things, also made a small dent in a tin of MRD pellets, which at 800 fps dident shoot all that well, but getting near and passing 900 and things turned mighty nice.

About 8 flies also lost their life today in what can only be described as a onslaught of massive depression. 😁

Also ! Damn cold today only 5 deg C, so Monday and Tuesday the heat source in the shed will see use for sure.

It's like that if I use my illuminated reticle at night to snipe rats, it's the glow like the sun, too much brightness even on the lowest setting! But like you, I focus on where the center dot is on said quarry 👍

Squeezed in a little time to shoot my Bandit. Still experimenting with holds and setups. This little pistol is a lot of fun and it shoots cheap WallyWorld CPHP pellets pretty well too. All 5 shot groups, indoors, at 10M. Thanks for the target ThomasT. It’s a lot of fun to shoot.
