What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

Your 1:00 and 7:00 targets are pretty special Thomas!
Hello @igolfat8

Switching to the 13.43 pellets from the heavier 15.89 has absolutely changed this Pistol's accuracy. These domed pellets are also out shooting the Wadcutter pellets. I love the clean neat round hole produced by the Wadcutters but at 15-feet and out to 10-meters they are not as accurate.

Hello everyone,

As stated earlier it is raining so perfect time for me to shoot a bunch of paper targets. I switched Pistols and shot a number of “DOT Scope Targets” and then shot this one o_O. I must admit that there are only two shots on target #3 ( lower right ). I made the first shot and confirmed the hit with my Spotting Scope and then shot a second time. When I viewed looking for the POI, I could not see a second hit??? I got up from the bench and walked up to the paper target and after a good study I realized that I had a true 2 in 1 hole impact 🤓. I did not want to mess this up so I shot the balance of the targets. It is NOT an absolutely perfect round hole but look at the back side photo and the enlargement of the hole ( in the blue square ) and you can see how close it was .

Although I only shot two pellets in the #3 target I am giving my self a 50 point score, just because :D

Have you tried the AA 13.4 pellets? I shoot those in my Vixen and they shoot soooo much more accurately than the 13.4 JSBs. I’m not sure why but that’s been my experience.

Hello @igolfat8

I do not have them in my inventory but will give them a try. I have had real good luck with other AA's in the past.

AA recently dropped the “Falcon” name and changed their packaging name on the 13.4 pellets but the new ones look and shoot as well as the old ones.

Hello everyone,

Just had to shoot some more Wadcutter pellets in the Custom PP-800R even though they are not as accurate as the Domed 13.43. Like to see the clean round holes and how they show up on the paper target. This will be my competition entry for the day.

Not in folks class here, but my P17 with AA 8.4 Fields. Shoot 10-meters off a bag with a red dot. I try. It is a B-40 based practice target.

I'm going to third this. I know from experience red dot shooting is tough. Just seeing the target is hard enough, but the flare around the dot for me makes it nearly impossible to hit accurately. Great job on your part.

Hello Everyone,

I tried some more Olympic Style Offhand target shooting this morning but with no improvement. I used a new technic by acquiring the “Dot” in the Dot Scope while still pointed toward the ground and then raise the Pistol up and as soon as the “Dot” was on the 10-Ring pull the trigger. My hands shake too much to acquire a target and hold very long to aim, so with a bit more practice this may work for me.

Shooting 5G30 mostly. starting with MRD pellets, and then finishing off with 13 gr Zan slugs.

A digital scope are not the best tool for 1 hole groups, i was using a dot reticle but the dot bigger than the hole a single 4.5 mm make in paper.
The output video have a much smaller red dot.
Also tweaking a little as i went along, also the 5 shot groups in the white are shot after a aim hole.

A couple of the papers in photographs.
The shots in the black, well no telling where they land looking thru scope, daytime mode not awardwinning footage it capture, and for sure not with a unholy number of digital zoom on top.
I have requested oneleaf that they make a digi scope based on a zoom core from a PTZ camera, this way we can get 20 - 30 - 40 X and up optical zoom.
Downside such a zoom core, well they are not made for G shocks, but i think at least modest size air rifles would be no problem.

I really need to get my finger out and buy that rear rest, my gehtto solutions are no good.
A little speed up 4 X video from the Oneleaf NV500 scope.

Later i also shot a little mouse, it catching a 13 grain Zan slug at speed, well it did not go anywhere after that.

Thomas, nice shooting. May I suggest another technique to try? Raise the dot just slightly above the bull then lower it onto the bull and break the shot. Try to hold on the bull for a millisecond and allow your muscles to stack up then break the shot. It’s difficult to describe.
