What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

I haven’t had my Avenger out much since last winter’s indoor target matches so I figured I had better check my zero since our indoor season starts this Sunday afternoon. My pellets were drifting up and down and side to side so I ran a string over the Chrono and my speed had dropped since last year. So I bumped up the regulator and my speeds came back to where they were last year and the consistency of POI returned. I have no idea why the reg pressure would have dropped by just setting in the safe?

Looks like the JTS 16gr are the ticket

Hello @igolfat8

Well Tim it looks like you resolved that problem and you are ready for the target matches. I'm looking forward to your reports and photos of the match event results.

Hello everyone,

Decided to shoot up some of the JSB pellets today and set up some paper targets outdoors at 10-Meters. Shot several targets and they all pretty much looked just like this one. The obvious results show that the JSB do not shoot as well as the AA. If I score the card without using a Plug then the score is only a 14. There were 3 shots pretty close so using a Plug the score is a bit better at 17 points.

Range: Outdoors at 10-Meters
Pistol: Diana Stormrider Gen2, .22cal with regulator
Scope: Hawke Vantage 2-7x32
Pellets: JSB Jumbo 15.89gr
FPS:
FPE:
Position: Bench with TPRR

Thomas, not bad! Do you have a pellet sizer? I have found some tins of JSB .22's do need to be sized for better consistent accuracy.....

Hello @Ranchibi

Randal I do have a Sizer but found that with the JSB's it doesn't show much improvement. I am spoiled shooting the AA's because of their accuracy in both the Custom PP-800R and the Stormrider. To be honest, I believe I will make a list of all the "other pellets" and sell them :D .

Glad you found the AA pellets @ThomasT . They have consistently shot more accurately than other pellets in the majority of my rifles.

Shot a couple more cards today practicing for tomorrows match. Yesterday the JTS16s edged out my past favored AA16’s. It’s kind of tough shooting these targets at 10M with my scope zeroed for 50’ because I have some weird hold overs. Then on a whim I decided to shoot a card with JTS18’s and they might edge out the JTS16s?

I think the 18's have a much better avg than the 16
better on the POI with the 18 ..for me, that is better predictabilty for wind shots
while the 16 were lower in their POI, but still has consistency
i'm guessing that by the weight, the 18's have a better bc
Good Luck Tomorrow!

Hello @igolfat8

Like others have stated, the 18's sure look mighty good.

Hello @igolfat8

Well I thank you again for recommending the AA's.

Like every day, I was shooting my 2300 from 15 feet. I put in a new cartridge and shot two groups of five. Nothing great two groups of two and number five was someplace in the center. Then I put five shot group together. It’s not a personal best group. It’s just that I felt very calm and conviction could hold it together for the last two shots. I did have to actually concentrate. But I also could see the hole not getting bigger after pulling the trigger. The shot to the left was the first shot. It was the last four that just went in there.

Congratulations for holding it together. I know how difficult that can be when you have a good target going.
