What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

I shot some paper because I had change of accuracy at 75-yards.

This explains why I was getting four hits in thirty shots.
This was shot in gusty winds which blew both directions at different points accounting for the offsets. After examining the rifle which was all good, and the mounts, which I pinned because of this issue, I spotted what could be the culprit. Completely clean up top, ring slippage was visible when I looked under the bottom with a flashlight.

So I exceeded torque spec with almost a quarter turn on the screws, twelve altogether.
The rifle is an HW35e, and is my most reactive recoiler. It also has a longer barrel which increases dwell time allowing the recoil a chance to misplace the aim.

I just switched to this ammo, FTT .22 cal which is about the lightest lead ammo that I can shoot. The lighter ammo reduces dwell time.
Back at it soon as I can! 👍
