Shot my Vet standard @40Y this afternoon. It was a bit windy but I had fun.

I did neither the tape mod nor the trigger work on mine and it's still very good.I tried to talk myself out of buying it. I thought to myself you already own one of the most accurate springers ever made but there is just something about taking a cheap dime store rifle and seeing how accurate it can be. Daisy hit a home run with these rifles. They made an accurate and affordable rifle for people to enjoy with out laying out a bunch of cash. Kudos to them.
Awesome shooting and rifle Randal.Tim and EPG, both excellent shooting in tough conditions with your Vets! Here is a 2 shot group with my Vet2 .22 @ my modest 20yd range with JSB 18gr.

Mike! Fantastic shooting! And, yes, I would have also quit @ shot 3....why mess with PERFECTION!? I believe you are ready for competition! Definitely check out the Vet2's! The 700mm would be my recommendation for BR because of the easier power and the weight, both (550mm) are heavy. Triggers are similar to a RAW and their cocking is, well, the best, sublime it's so smooth. The barrel is threaded into the breech and the moderator tensions the barrel also and the shroud aids in rigidity, very well thought out and simple bullet proof system.I really need to check out a Vet, but i don't even play with all the rifles i already have
My poor RTI has been sitting in it's case for weeks.
I just been too focused on getting my Epoch as focused as possible for competition
I went back to the range and had it all to myself in the 100 yard section
I am shooting the EBR targets that Thomas made and was alternating the shots..not shooting groups
The top row was shot one at a time down the row, then start at the beginning for 25 shots to simulate a match style shooting
I believe it scores as a 232, but i didn't have a .35 plug so it is a guesstimate
I was very happy with one target but i did chicken out on shooting it 5 times ..it was a 3 shot that measures .22"
Very Happy with todays practice session...hope it continues this way
Mike

Mike, you're always welcome! Good people deserve good things in my humble book! I believe forums as in life should be about helping/sharing whatever we can. You do the same things hereThanks Randal
You really are an ambassador of this forum
Always with something positive.
Thanks for the kind remarks
I really do hope to shoot a Vet soon, but in the meantime, i just got a .30cal barrel for the Epoch which is likely going to take up my time after Oregon.
I doubt i could have it ready before the event, since i can't shoot a .30cal in the apt with the current moderator
I followed some friends advice and got a Falx from STO ... but i still wonder if it would be apt quite?
