What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

That's some Nice accuracy from a budget PC. Did it require a lot of work to get it to this point? Becoming familiar with your skills, i imagine you've taken it apart and put it back together. More motivation to get my lazy rear to the range! An outdoor one!
What speed are you using for these conditions? Did you slow it down?
Great card for the conditions!

Well, it's snowing up a storm outside, but I am hunkered down in the basement. I just realized yesterday that the oscillating fan next to my targets may be influencing some of the impacts, even at 7 yards. Maybe I'll try this with fan shut off? Perhaps tomorrow 😂

After retuning my Atomic which had slid from 700fps down to 650fps, I shot these 5 meter targets with ole trusty to remind myself how well it shoots. I put up the Atomic for today as it doesn't shoot real consistently. These are 5 shot groups, rested.

Hello @manabeknives

Originally I took it out of the box and shoot it some and was not pleased with the accuracy. I talked with Israel at DonnyFL and he had me send it back where he did some extra tuning and I haven't touched it since I received it back. I love this rifle and the way it shoots so many various pellets. I'm shooting the Ozark-TW more than my new Brocock Sniper XR 😁

I just shot the FX 25.4gr over the Crony at 640 fps and 23.10 fpe. These are slower than the JSB Jumbo Heavy 18.13gr, 800 fps and 25.77 fpe but just as accurate.

Wow! What a deal! I'll trade my 3/16” drill bit for your 22 junker rifle, the one that can't hit outside the X ring!

Ross, fabulous card with your Atomic! Looks like it likes that higher speed for accuracy! Like said above, very clean!

Been waiting around the house for some deliveries for gear, so I had time to set up a target for some practice. I slowed down the speed I was firing which resulted in cleaner holes in the target. The distance is only 13m, so i try to keep it within the bullseye. Getting more familiar on how I meld with the rifle and controlling my breathing. Hoping all the short range work can be applied to the longer ranges.
thanks
Mike

Hello @manabeknives

Wow, that is so close to PERFECT. You and that RAW are in the zone.

Sounds like you are doing the right thing. I call it "getting into the zone", but you are correct: this short range practice will help with distance shooting. You'd use the same technique, same hold, etc. but add in good wind calls.

Ross, like you, Thomas and many others, I really enjoy the process of a methodical routine to get desired results. This is true with all my hobbies, PCP shooting, fishing, cooking and golf! Each makes me do certain things in order to be successful. That's why shooting PCP 's is so satisfying yet hard to get super consistent accuracy because these regulated PCP's rarely miss...it's all on me if a shot is missed! But I really do enjoy the process 🤗.

I have some of the light weight NSA slugs coming in a few sizes on it's way, as well a a selection of current slugs on the market. I received a new scope yesterday, but the rings got delayed. I purchased a Delta Stryker 5-50 x 56. It has a 34mil tube, which i have zero rings for. 1st set ordered were lost on amazon, so i ordered a second set from AoU ..we'll see which comes in first. Having a new scope and no rings totally sucks!! The peller sizer won't be delivered until next week..sad. Got a new gem scale as well. The range bag is coming together...not sure what else i need or can afford...lol. Maybe a range that's closer to my house?? I'll keep you in the loop, and thans for all your suggestions.

Hello @Ranchibi

I agree and this is why I also believe it to be very important to target shoot as much as possible.

Mike! I have a feeling that you're gonna REALLY LIKE that Delta Stryker! Take your time with the slugs, start with the smallest diameter and move up. If you start with the larger diameter that maybe TOO LARGE in diameter, it's possible you may bend or break the probe. With my RAW, which is detuned to shoot 18gr pellets @ 970fps, NSA 17.5gr .2175 & NSA 20.2gr .2175 @ 950 & 930fps respectively, loading is snug, quite snug but still smooth FYI, that's the size that gives the best spin stabilization thru my barrel, your size could be different. Enjoy your new scope and have fun with the slugs!

Hello everyone,

Almost like a Spring morning but with a light mist / fog in the air and a high temperature expected today of 73 degrees. I decided to go ahead and shoot and take advantage of the light wind conditions. Shot one warm up target and then this one but the paper was getting too damp so I shut it down.

Range: Outdoor 25-Yards
Rifle: Niksan Ozark-TW .22 caliber
Scope: Vector Optics, Tourex 6-24x50 FFP
Pellets: JSB Jumbo Heavy 18.13gr resized to 5.53
FPS: 800
FPE: 25.77
Wind: 2 to 5 mph

Another great card...Makes an introvert(me) want to get outdoors! I don't know why, but the target messes with my eyes when i take a quick look at it.
Do you ever set out flags, or just looking at the surroundings? Wind from behind you?? I see almost all horizontal with just 3 up/downs.
Have you seen the up/down wind indicator by Graham? wanted to know yout thoughts...also any other recomended flags?
Thanks
Mike
