Hello @manabeknivesAnother great card...Makes an introvert(me) want to get outdoors! I don't know why, but the target messes with my eyes when i take a quick look at it.
Do you ever set out flags, or just looking at the surroundings? Wind from behind you?? I see almost all horizontal with just 3 up/downs.
Have you seen the up/down wind indicator by Graham? wanted to know yout thoughts...also any other recomended flags?
Thanks
Mike
I really do not like this target even though I designed it , it is the staggered white / black in the 10-Ring that makes you go a bit nuts . But looking through a scope at 25 to 50 yards, it sure is easy to zero in on the dead center.
Yes, I normally have one flag on my target frame itself, but not any in between except on my 85-yard target. I really don't read the wind flags real well. So on low wind days ( 5 to 10 mph ) I concentrate mainly on the paper target itself, by that I mean I actually watch the paper. My target frames have it where the cardboard is set off from the 24" square steel backing plate by 2 inches on all four corners. Between these corners is open so any wind can blow behind the cardboard which effects the paper target, ( see attached photos ). If the Paper Target shows any pulsating movement I will "hold" my shot. I sure hope this makes some sense to you.
On high wind days ( 10+ mph ) I do watch the flags and anything like leaves that will give me some direction information. When the wind is high I really do not try to shoot a "competitive result", I just try to do the best that I can given the conditions.
I shoot from inside my house so I do not feel any wind on me at all.
No I have not see the up/down wind indicator, I'm afraid that would be another distraction for me.
