What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

Have you ever tried the JSB RS 13gr and 14gr? I use these thru my Prod for rats, very accurate for distances under 50yds. You can then lower reg pressure and HS and get a b'zillion shots....😂
Hello @Ranchibi

I do have them in stock but have not tested them in the Avenger but will add them to my list. I do remember that the 13's shot excellent in my Crown. Thank you.

I used to use 3M spray adhesive to fix paper to cardboard , then i found thin card stock worked with my printer and less messy . push the button and 10 targets .
Hello @beerthief

That is what I am using on a lot of my targets. Light card stock / heavy paper, forgot what the print shop called it but it sure shoot good and leave clean holes.

yes a ream / package of light card stock @ staples is $37 for 250 sheets . My printer was $139 (has tank ink reservoir ) , have gone through 2 packs of card stock and haven't filled ink yet .

EDIT , regular ink cartridges , not so much !

I was able to get outside for a session today with the Cayden. 50 yards using jsb 15.89 pellets.
40 degrees Mostly sunny but kinda windy. With all the snow and now rain we've had it's been difficult to get out. 20240204_061059.jpg

Thats not a scope, this is a scope :)

I am thinking i need suspenders, but i think maybe instead get a dual carry shoulder holster, even if empty it look better than suspenders.
No matter how uncomfortable tight i do my belt my belly still push my pants down and they in turn pull everything else with them.

But maybe fabricate a couple of quick release scope carriers.

Hit the range again today. Instead of grabbing the MRD”s for another headache session, I grabbed an unopened tin of JSB 18.13g that I have had in the closet for a decade. Just a little oxidized, straight from the tin. OMG what a difference a good pellet makes! Shot with my RAW HM1000X .22. I was starting to wonder if there was something wrong with the rifle….nope, just the MRDls are terrible.

Mike, excellent card with the 18gr! I bet they're moving at quite a fast clip, well over 1000fps...😂👍, happy for you!

You are on the money with the FPS .. will have to tone down the reg to get the FPS down lower. Just hope that spring doesn't pop out again ..lol I should have some extras on the way.

Hi Thomas
i was nearly ready to say .."i'm just going to make knives from now on"
It was a fine feeling to leave the gun range without a headache caused by terrible pellets. While the whole time thinking that is was someways your fault.
Did i miss the speed...not clean enough..not fouled enough..wrong head size..All of it ran through my mind.
Thanks for your support through all the testing

Hello @manabeknives

Well if I was in any way a positive influence, then that just could not make me any happier 🤩😁:D.

Most of the membership here on the Forum has always shown a lot of encouragement to anyone that needed that "little extra help".

Thank you and have a great day,
ThomasT

Hello everyone,

Spent most of the morning working on another project in my shop with a window and door open to a Spring like day. Couldn’t stand it any longer so I shot several different targets with various pellets.

The first card I tried some JSB 13.43gr suggested by @Ranchibi , the top two lines and they shot pretty good.
The second two lines I used JTS Dead Center 16.08gr and they also shot pretty good.
The last line I used Crosman 14.3gr and they shot as good as the other two.

So on the next card I figured it was time to shoot some JSB Jumbo Heavy 18.13gr ( straight from the bad Tin ) and they shot well enough to get a 200 Points score.

Looks like the Avenger is not real picky about the pellet, and that is a good thing 😁 (y) .

Range: Outdoor 10-Meters
Rifle: Air Venturi Avenger Gen I, Regulated, .22 caliber
Scope: Aztec Emerald 5.5-25x50 FFP
Pellets: See cards
FPS: ?
FPE: ?
Wind: 2 to 5 mph

Mike, Better keep an eye on your pipe. Any lead shot over 900 FPS will likely lead your barrel up quickly, if shot without lube.

Yeah...these come as 50ft/lb guns in .22 tuned from the factory, reg is usually around 140 bar in .22. I do not know what my reg is set at as Martin tuned mine for 18gr @ 970. Spare parts are a good thing to have on hand!
