What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

Hello @Ranchibi

I haven't had much free time to shoot lately and really needed to get some paper shot today so I was really pleased to see the fog lift. I just messed around with some "warm up" targets and that was a lot of stress reliving fun 😁 😁 😁 . Then I shot some spinners as fast as I could, trying to shoot a second spinner before the first spinner stopped spinning ...... that is fun :p. I'm all better now.

Ha! I was able to get a few shots in before the rains came again! I did get new glass/binoculars received on Friday and have been having a blast viewing thru them.

Randall, we'd really like see some pics of paper with holes in it. You know, shot up targets! 😂🤣🙄

Hello everyone,

Low clouds and fog this morning so I did not even try to shoot. Just after noon the fog was gone but still overcast however no wind so I shot several paper targets. Shot some warm up targets and then shot this Best Average Center to Center and I don’t know why the paper tore so badly but it made it a bit hard to measure and score.

Range: Outdoor 10-Meters
Rifle: Air Venturi Avenger Gen I, Regulated, .22 caliber
Scope: Aztec Emerald 5.5-25x50 FFP
Pellets: Rifle Premium 18.67gr
FPS: ?
FPE: ?
Wind: zero mph

Seems like great conditions for testing
The Rifle pellets do a lot better than the AEA pellets. I thought i read that they are from the same company..Listone industries, but not sure if they are distributors or manufacturers. They are out of Taiwan.
on the paper tearing ..i have used spray starch for ironing to strengthen the paper in the past. Now i get 20lb paper. Not much more than regular stock. Holds up better. silly i know, but it works
California's weather been on a flip/flop lately...hope i get some range time soon
Have a great day
Mike

Hello @manabeknives

I am printing on 20# paper and none of the targets that I shot earlier tore like the last target ??? My Sniper and the Avenger both shoot the Rifle Premium pellets really well.

Thunderstorms in my area today so I might not get a chance to shoot

Hello everyone,

Got a short break in the weather so I decided to shoot off “the bags” instead of the Precision Rifle Rest. Shooting a hard target with the bad JSB pellets was not a wise decision. However I will admit that I am now completely spoiled and choose the Rifle Rest over the bags. Obviously the accuracy is much better but just acquiring each target and then holding for the shot is so much more difficult.

Range: Outdoor 10-Meters
Rifle: Air Venturi Avenger Gen I, Regulated, .22 caliber
Scope: Aztec Emerald 5.5-25x50 FFP
Pellets: JSB Jumbo Heavy 18.13gr
FPS: ?
FPE: ?
Wind: 5 to 10 mph

It should be, "What paper target did I NOT shoot today"....I have found that my Crown Mkii Continuum .25 Cal has had pellet strikes on the inner edge of BOTH my 380 and 700mm Shrouds! BOTH of which I found out fairly quickly has Ruined my FATBOY Moderator and Muzzle brake, and also my TANTO!

I wasted a good part of the day yesterday being mad as hell. I thought it was a bad batch of JSB's I had. So, sat down and sorted every last one and inspected closely for any disfigurement. A few not many.

Then looked at the rifle. Lowered reg psi, hammerspring, and transfer port......NOTHING CHANGED. Pellets everywhere, like a 12GA at 100yrds.

Mechanically centered scope and tried to re-zero....NOPE not the scope.

Pulled the liners out of the shrouds and found the spacers had moved considerably. The 380 was backed up against the area where the liner and xfer port join. The 700 was bunched up in the middle like 1 huge spacer.

Cleaned the barrels until they were spotless, cleaned the spacers and put them back in their respective places and re-assembled rifle.

Back to the bench.....SAME FRIGGING THING!!

Barrels off again and this time I looked down the shroud and BINGO! Found my damn issue....I think...

But, a new issue has arose....how the hell am I to de-bur that all the way down there?

I had just recieved my .22 Cal change kit, so I put it on and the rifle is a friggin laser beam.....

Just disgusted at this juncture....

If anyone has any ideas on how to rectify this issue, I am all for giving it a try.....

Thanx and I apologize for the rant but had to let it out....

Sorry for hyjacking the thread.....plz forgive

Ok don't judge, but I think I fixed it.

Took a 9/32 drill bit and drill to the bore opening and cleaned it up. At least it looks to be gone after looking thru the both.

The 380 is back on par again. I actually moved the shroud spacer even more closer to the end of the barrel leaving about 2" from the end.

Just got done with the 700mm and now am waiting on my compressor to fill the rifle up above my reg now.

Lets see what happens....fingers crossed...
