What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

Thomas, still a wonderful card in those conditions I bet ya can't hit that wire that many times AGAIN...😂👍! Very windy here also 14-24mph so...no chooting for me today....😢. But, I do have a large rattus coming around early evening but my wireless doorcam isn't sending me push notifications BUT I have a brand new one I set up today....so hoping I get a crack at it!

Hello everyone,

The wind had laid down a bit so I decided to shoot some 25-Yard paper targets this afternoon. I shot 10 times at the “sighters” to zero in the scope and kind of test the wind.

The Brocock Sniper XR seemd to be shooting a fresh new Tin of JSB pellets OK so I moved up to the top left target and shot, ...... , what the heck, missed the whole target. Shot a second pellet and no hole ?? Check the wind flags and fired off a third round and zippy-do-dah, NO HOLE ??? I moved down and shot all three targets on the bottom perfectly ???? I then moved up to the center line and shot a 9 on the right target, that can’t be right, so I shot again and Bingo a perfect hit. Then I shot the next two on that line with perfect hits. OK, moved back up to the top line and shot three 9's, what the heck is going on here.

I go outside to retrieve the target and I notice a bright shinny object on my new garden fence, ( photos 2 and 3 ) a broken wire on the fence. SO, my pellets were hitting the fence and ricochet off to ????? Well now wait just a minute, I shot a perfect card yesterday on this 25-yard frame ........ er, uh, dummy you moved the frame when you mowed, dang, o_O:confused::oops:

Range: Outdoor 25-Yards
Rifle: Brocock Sniper XR .22 caliber
Scope: Athlon Argos BTR Gen2 10-40x56
Pellets: JSB Jumbo Heavy 18.13gr new Tin of 250
FPS: 834
FPE: 28
Wind: 5 to 10 mph

The yard looks beatiful!
AT 25yards, it's a great looking card!..except for the double shot ..lol
I'd rather be shooting in the sunshine then the dark, cold range i attend
You'll get that perfect score tomorrow!
Great shooting

Hello @Ranchibi

You are correct, however that piece of the fence has been removed.

Hello @manabeknives

I moved the target frame back where it aligns with the 10-meter frame and the fence and my shooting window, :ROFLMAO:. I'm good to go now.

Spring time yard with the first mowing and boy does that fresh cut grass smell good. Believe it or not, I have several Blue Bonnets blooming already, love this time of the year.

Hey guys,
Did another round of testing with the Shallows 25.39 at 100 yards
Adjusted the speed to 940-950fps
Used my HM1000x
I used the pellets straight form the tin ..no mix of deep and shallow in any of the 5 tins i have used
Shot a few groups at first to get an idea of how the pellets were performing
The groups held close with the worst measuring 1.55 inches and the best measured at .76.

I was really pleased with the results, so i did single shots on the remaining 10 targets.

now I need to start sorting some tins so I can get a point or two more, but these results are encouraging.
I just received 5 tins of the Grands.
i really don”t want to change the setup on this rifle, so I will try them in the P3 tomorrow
Mike

Those pellets look like they have some promise Mike. How is your P3 shooting?
i still need to get used to it..it performs, i just need to twerk it here and there.
I have it on a bipod for now.
The way you hold it is completely different than the RAW...so that is what i still need to get comfortable with.
The Raw likes these pellets better than the RTI....so i will try the Grands in the P3 tomorrow

Thanks Thomas
still need to do a few adjustments, but i am liking the progress!
Will try to shoot the Grands later today if time allows
Thomas, do you have a 100 yard target similar to the ones used in the competitions like EBR or RMAC? I am just using the 10m standing ones.
Thnaks

Hello @manabeknives

No I do not Mike, their 100-yard target is like 3' x 4' and I cannot print anything that size. Their scoring rings are not based on MOA and are really a good challenge.

Good luck with your testing.

Hello everyone,

For those folks that shoot 100-yard paper targets, I have created a new pdf file for an Unofficial 100-Yard Benchrest Practice Target. Click on this link and go to Post #31 where you can download a pdf copy.

This attached jpg photo shows what the new Target looks like when printed on standard 8-1/2x11 paper or card stock.
