What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

Hello everyone,

I could not wait to shot some Competition paper targets this morning using my latest invention :D . I have posted a complete article about it over on “Air Pistols”. I designed and built this TPR “device” yesterday and after the paint dried was able to get it put together and do a bit of shooting. What a huge improvement in stability over all of the other arraignments that I have used in the past 🤩.

Hello again everyone,

Just had to shoot one more Competition Target this morning with the new set up. Shooting an un-regulated .177 Pistol I need to pay closer attention when getting down to the Yellow Pressure, see target #3. Refilled the cylinder and recovered on #4 and #5 :)

OK, Thomas, I’ll bite … what is a TPR? Perhaps it’s Thomas’ Petite Rifle?
Hello @igolfat8

It is very simple ( like me 🤪 ), "Travis Pistol Rest".

Shot this with my camera today. Unfortunately that's all I could shoot.

Hello @Dead-On

Looks to me that it is time for you to move indoors with your shooting. I'm an old Deep East Texas boy and that photo hurts me, that is way too cold. I still have Gardenia's blooming in my garden :D .

Hello everyone,

Now that I have the new Pistol Rest ( TPR ) and know that I can have repeatable “results” shooting various pellets to compare, I shot this test target. These are all Wadcutter style of pellets. I did NOT change the settings on the scope and did aim at the dead center of each target. I only shot two mags before re-filling the air cylinder to be as fair and accurate as possible. I am really surprised how well the Bandit shot such a wide variety of different styles and weights on these pellets. Keep in mind that this is an unregulated Pistol with a 50cc air cylinder with a fill pressure of 2,900psi.

Hello everyone,

OK shot the balance of the Wadcutter pellets that I have in stock and again very pleased how well the Bandit shot these pellets. If I had zeroed the scope with the Crosman and then shot this target I believe that would have resulted in “all 10's” score. However to NO surprise the QYS pellets shot almost perfect but for every day shooting they are way too expensive.

Hi Thomas
The Diana seems to like those Qys's ..the crossmans seem nice and consistent too
weird flyer on the daisey's to hit at 9 oclock
RWS field line looks really poor
Kinda nice to see that the crossmans and Qys are almost on the same level in that pistol
Looking good

Hello @manabeknives

What I think about the Daisy was a bent skirt that I didn't see when loading the mag. I will shoot the Crosman again but will zero them to the scope. I have a stack of round nose pellets that I will shoot today also.

Thomas have you shot the lower cost QYS practice pellets? I remember they shot nearly as accurately from my Crosman Challenger rifle as their highest priced Olympic pellets. Their domes shot pretty well too if my memory is correct?
Hello @igolfat8

No I have not, in fact I didn't know they made a less expensive line. Where did you find them? And yes, I have shot their domed pellets out to 25-yards and they were dead on accurate.

I had the TX200 out. It has a FAC spring with a spacer as well. It usually is shooting 50-yards. Here is it shooting 50-feet (16.6 yards) using A-17 targets.

Nice shooting @drpietrzak
Real nice AA you have
it was a coin toss between that and the HW97 ..but Weirauch had a thumbhole stock which won me over
Target looks very nice
