What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

Hello everyone,

Another too cold day for me but clear skies and no wind I wanted to take advantage and do some shooting outdoors while I still can. So I set up this target at 10-Meters to shoot with a RedDot scope on the Stormrider rifle. I really took my time on each shot and although I’m not stacking 5 shots in one hole, I am still very pleased considering the equipment that I am using :) .

Range: Outdoors at 10-Meters
Pistol: Diana Stormrider Gen2, .22cal
Scope: Hawkeye Reflex Red Dot
Pellets: AA Accuracy Plus 13.43gr
FPS:
FPE:
Position: Bench with TPRR

40 beats 24 degrees any day!

While it has been a busy week there were several practice sessions over the last week. Some directly with the 17, and with my laser training rig. The question, of course, is does this help at all? Do the groups look better? Do I score more hits?

The rig is a Beeman P17 in .177 with a Red Dot optic. I am shooting at 10-meters 2-handed offhand. I am shooting AA 8.4 grain Field Diablo. These are unsorted and coming straight from the tin.

The result? Well, while not great there was some improvement. Hopefully practice will continue this trend!

Well I stumbled into the HBN powder dry lube thread and decided to give it a try. I tried lubed pellets, HBN coated and straight from the tin. I tried it on CPHPs and JTS16’s. It didn’t help the accuracy of either pellet.

Long story short straight from the tin shot the most consistent, at least at 10M from a benched Bandit pistol and or carbine.

Hello @igolfat8

Thanks for doing all this testing and sharing your information.

Thank you ThomasT,
Twice last night my wife asked me if I was mad about something because I just sat here in the same room without speaking because I was soaking this all up! I can’t keep up with how much I want to read!
Hello @Dv693

Get your wife a nice light weight rifle and get her to start shooting along with you. Be very careful though, most likely she will be out shooting you in no time and you have to be cool  about the situation.

Hello everyone,

Overcast with a light mist so no 10-Meter shooting today. Happy to be able to shoot indoors so I put up some Competition Targets and shot them with the Chameleon this morning. This was my best overall and will be my offering today.

Range: Indoors at 15-feet
Pistol: .22Cal Custom PP-800 R Pistol/Carbine w/full Buck Rail AR Conversion
Scope: UTG Bug Buster 3-9x32
Pellets: AA Accuracy Plus 13.43gr
FPS:
FPE:
Position: Bench w/ TPR Front and rear Bag

EDIT:
I just noticed something, look at my sighter shot, low right. Then I proceed to shoot 25 more time ...... all low right, hello 🤪 . My only excuse is that I took my brain out last night for the weekly cleaning and I must have not reconnected all of the wires 🤔o_O:oops:

Hello everyone,

I removed the RedDot scope from the Stormrider this morning and installed the Hawke Vantage 2-7x32 scope. Cool clear skies with 10-15mph wind so I set out a warm up target at 10-Meters to zero the scope and it only took a few shots. I wanted to test the rifle for some Squirrel shooting so I set out this Silhouette target at 10-Meters and shot 5 times. Pretty close to placing all 5 shots in one hole so I am satisfied that it is ready.

Range: Outdoors at 10-Meters
Pistol: Diana Stormrider Gen2, .22cal
Scope: Hawke Vantage 2-7x32
Pellets: AA Accuracy Plus 13.43gr
FPS: 814
FPE: 19.76
Position: Bench with TPRR
