I shot three playing cards at 51+ yards in 18.3 seconds today using my “Swing Type” GCMAG MAGNUM Gen 2, GF1000 barrel, JMS-Pro 18.3gr pellets, Vector Optics Sentinel X scope, eaglevisioncam.com INS-30 scope mounts, Protektor Model Deluxe BB rear bag as front rest and Protektor rabbit ear rear bag.

I also shot a HAM Close Range Challenge while standing using my Daystate Red Wolf Mutant .177 @15 ft-lbs, QYS 9.56gr pellets, Vortex Diamondback Tactical scope, Protektor Model Deluxe BB as front rest and Protektor rabbit ear rear bag.

Yes, good shooting on the cards and off hand. I’ve never heard of your gun you used to shoot the cards with? Tell us more about it please.

Only shot a couple of targets today with the old RWS 45. I lightened the trigger a bit and a couple of the shots got away a little quicker than I anticipated I think once I get used to it I might be able to turn in some better groups. This old rifle is pretty “lively” in the hands but I still like the old girl. She doesn’t shoot like the 300S but it’s a lot easier to hold off hand for me. Here’s 5 off hand. I promise I’ll get better

I tested lubes today through my Taipan Veteran Standard using unsorted, straight from the tin, AA18s for the first 4 cards. Last card was with JTS 16 and 18’s. Found that HBN caused heavy leading even after a thorough barrel cleaning, HBN mopped barrel and HBN coated pellets. None of the other lubes left any lead deposits and the third patch was always white with all of the lubes. The Napier lube showed the darkest (2) patches but the 3rd patchwas white.

I asked because it is impossible for me to come anywhere close to your results with a traditional rifle scope and mount. Best I can muster up are 1/4" groups on a good day. This is why I use hand gun scopes/ scout mounts on all my pumpers. With this set-up I use the turret caps to true-up the cross hairs and it works surprisingly well...an example attached.

I looked up your scope and its impressive. Guess I've been living in a cave for far too long. Is it safe to assume your style scope eliminates much of the guess work I'm using with the scout mount?

Thanks Tim. The rifle I used is a Philippine made GCMAG MAGNUM Gen 2 with a GF1000 (23.5”)barrel made by Gilbert Felipe. The rifle can be configured to shoot from .177-.25 by just swapping barrels with a 16mm OD. Right now my unit is setup for benchrest but the stock can be changed to a sporter stock for hunting.
