What pellet is best for Rats?

Quite frankly after rats have cost me $2K+ in vehicle damage including a vehicle fire that almost cost me $75K (if I had not got it out in time it would have taken my shop and all contents) in the last couple of years I take pleasure in their suffering. :p Killed over 250 mice by drowning in bucket traps the 2 weeks around last Christmas. If possible I would exterminate the entire species in the blink of an eye. Have you guessed I don't like rodents at all. lol

I use JSB Monsters and Heavies on every rat I shoot at.

"Haza07155" I want to find a pellet that can kill it in one hit in the skull without making it survive and suffer.
If you are hitting the rats in the head any pellet should do fine for killing rats. Remember rats have a lot of nerve ending that fire off when shot in the head. It may seem like they are in pain or suffering as they bounce about but they are dead. If you want to go with body shots find a hollow point or wadcutter pellet that is accurate at your maximum shooting range. The hollow points and wadcutters cut a nice clean hole through a rat which will kill faster than a dome pellet which tends to pencil on through. Bill

(all .22) I've hit them with Crosman Destroyers, Superdomes, H+N Terminators, H+N Hunter, and H+N Hunter Extreme, and my "go to" are the Hunter Extremes. Like AirgunBill said, they will dance a little after contact, but they are "gone". Never had any runners, or mistakes while using the extremes. In addition to impact/punch, I think the H+N Hunter Extremes are really, really, accurate and consistent shooting rounds.
