What pistol did you shoot today

5 shot group at 10 meters from my 2300S with a 2220-103 trigger group. It started life out as a budget 2240 from Amazon and upgrades quickly escalated from there. lol

IZH46, purchased in 97 from MAC1. Still on the original breech seal, the spares and cleaning rod are pictured sealed in their original packaging. A keen eye will spot the included drift punch and tool. Also pictured is a Beeman pellet pouch that the IZH would regularly empty in a couple of evenings. The second photo has the September/October U.S. AIRGUN magazine review of it in the background.

It was the gun I didn't want to buy. I had made the long drive to Gardena to pickup a Leopold VARI-X III 6.5-20 E.F.R. scope and drooper mounts for the Career 707 I had purchased earlier in the year. Tim setup the scope and as usual, I spent most of the afternoon visiting with Tim and LD, good times. Got to shoot an early LD, amazing but a CO2 summer gun was not my thing.

Then Tim pulled out the IZH in a marbled off white case with one sprung latch and grips that didn't match the wood on the cocking lever. Being a perfectionist, again not my thing. Tim explained that it was the last one, apparently there were new restrictions on Russian guns. Can't remember if the restrictions were on our end or the Russian's. For the next couple of hours both Tim and Larry kept telling me that if I didn't buy the IZH that I would regret it. I am so glad that I finally heard their words and bought the pistol.

Just received this Venturi V10 from PA via UPS late this afternoon. Quickly cleaned it and set up a 10 meter air pistol target and started going through my collection of pellets to begin the process of learning the pistol and what it likes. Never had a 10 meter pistol before and there will be a learning curve, but I saw immediate improvement with my one-handed shooting as I got familiar with the pistol, adjusted the trigger, and the palm rest, and the sights, and just enjoyed the accuracy. What a hoot.

More info on how I added the suppressor. The gun is finger snap quiet. I intended to apply what I learned on a P17 but never got around to it.

I made an adapter by cutting 10mm OD x 8mm ID carbon fiber tube to an appropriate length to slip fit inside the 10mm hole the muzzle sits in. A stainless steel 11mm OD x 10mm ID tube was cut to length and used as a sleeve over the CF tube and JB welded to the CF. A Buck Rail 2240 slip on suppressor was then press fit over the 11mm SS sleeve for a nice snug fit.

A Dremel and sand paper wrapped around various diameter sockets was used to remove material from the bottom of the gun and trigger guard in order to clear the suppressor.

Finally, a little trial and error to find the right amount of spacers and screw length to act as a travel stop when the gun opened up to load and take in air. That’s the silver 3mm round head screw with spacers under it. There is a grub screw in the forward hole that holds the suppressor adapter in place.

After all that, I ended up having to ream out the baffles of the suppressor slightly because of slight slop and caddywompasanous in the xsp120s barrel mounting.

Here is the Beeman P17. A gun this inexpensive has no business being this good. 5 shot groups at 10m. The 2moa red dot covers the black bullseye at that distance. The pellet stack on groups 2 and 4 don’t have all five pellets because some fell off after impact. Not enough fps to really bury them in place.
